"I better wake them up."

I crawled over to where Lucas was lying and jiggled his body. His eyes opened one by one and he sat up straight.

"Ow my head...Ruby? Did we make it?" He asked rubbing his eyes adjusting his sight. I pulled out a grin and nodded. We both stood up and walked over to Dakota who had woken up already

"Guys, we made it!" He shouted happily while standing up and messing up his scruffy hair. "Remember to keep a low profile, we don't want any guards behind our backs."

Dakota put his hood over his head as the two of us did. I held Lucas' hand tight which startled him as we walked quietly out the dark alley. "Hey," he breathed over my head. "It's going to be fine, you'll be okay." I nodded slowly as he placed a kiss on top of my hood.

The end of the alley was coming closer. I could see the bright light of daylight sitting at the end, waiting for us to visit the beautiful kingdom. We stopped at the end of the alley to look around at our surroundings. A narrow street was sitting in front of us. It was peaceful and quiet, with a few cars parking and nobody around.

"Why do you have cars here? Can't you just fly?" I repeated the question I asked Lucas. Dakota looked down at me and answered, "We'll need potions to fly and a potion ain't that easy to get. You'd need pots of money." I nodded in understanding as I stared at a little flower shop across us.

"So where to first?" I curiously asked.

"Hey, you made a promise. We're going to see Leah first." Dakota hissed while rummaging through his bag.

"Her house is at the other side of this part of town bro, how are we gonna get there?" Lucas interrupted.

"Why don't you use your pixie dust to fly us there?" I asked.

"Oh shit," Dakota groaned putting his bag away. "We left all our potions, we're on foot."

"Unless, we use a car. Where will we find a car we could use?" Lucas suggested.

"My old house, my dad had a collection of cars. Maybe some were still left there," Dakota sighed. "let's hit the road."

We walked silently through the silent streets. The air was super cold so I huddled onto Lucas for warmth. There weren't that many people going around town, just a few sorcerers in their cloaks and boots

"I don't see that many people. Has it always been like this?" I asked still huddling on him.

"No, Trixwerys has never been this quiet. The streets used to be full of people, full of joy and happiness. I guess Lucius had changed that."

We took a turn in a corner of a street, passing an old looking clock tower when Dakota held his arm out blocking our bodies from walking further.

"Stop. Guard, 11 0'clock." he cried out with a low tone. The both of us looked up at the direction Dakota was pointing out and there stood a fully armored guard standing near a building. "We'll go the other way around."

We ran the other way quietly and stopped when we were far enough.

"Do you think he saw us?" I asked

"I don't think so. Looks like Lucius has a totally different way of ruling a kingdom." Dakota replied sighing. "Come on, we're almost there."

We came by a street that was slightly wider with more cars and people passing by. At the end of the street, stood a huge mansion bigger than the rest of the houses there. It was enormous, with gates and tall fences covering the mansion. I was sure it belonged to a wealthy guy, but it looked abandoned.

"Is that his house?"

Lucas looked down at me and nodded. The three of us headed over to the mansion and stopped in front of the main gate. Dakota walked over to the gate and started pushing and kicking it in.

"Darn, it's locked."

"Can't you work your magic to unlock it?" I asked.

"Can't do that, the gate is sealed with magic. No one's magic can unlock it."

"But there must be another way in."

Whike Dakota and I were busy worrying about how we'll get in, Lucas cried out. "Guys! I think we can go through here." He was kneeling on the ground in front of wooden boards nailed onto the fence.

"There's a huge hole behind these, we can get it open." He placed both his hands on the boards and pulled real hard that red sparks flew out from his hands. The boards flunged open and revealed a huge hole into the mansion.

"Come on, we're crawling in." Lucas crawled inside and the rest of us followed. After we got inside, I looked around and found a black expensive looking sedan car parked at the side of the mansion.

"Um, Dakota? Is this your car?"

He walked over to the car, jimmied the car door and slid into the driver's seat. Lucas and I slid into the back seat and stared at Dakota trying to hot wire the car. After minutes of trying, he finally did it and he hit the accelerator. He drove towards the gate, and drove away into the streets leaving the gate destroyed.

"Oh God, I can't believe we just stole a car." Lucas shouted. Dakota snorted as he drove in full speed. "No we did not, this baby was my dad's." Lucas rolled his eyes, "Until it belonged to another guy...right."

"Dakota, I thought no one lives in that mansion anymore." I shouted which made him look at me.

"While we were there, I saw some men through one of the windows. Not so sure who they were, but I don't think they're good news."

We continued driving in silence as I leaned my head onto the window watching the pretty and quiet streets passing by. I woke up moments later feeling someone shaking my body back and forth.

"Hey babe, wake up. We're here."

I sat up straight as I looked out the window to see the sky drizzling with drops of water sliding down the windows. We stepped out of the car and put on our hoods. I looked around at our surroundings to see that we were in a street with lots of tall pine trees lining up along the sides of the street.

"She lives around this neighborhood." Dakota explained.

"Which is her house?" I asked. He pointed at a little house. It looked very peaceful and nice with so many different kinds of flowers planted around the yard. Bushes of roses trailed along a trail leading to the front door.

"Come, let's go."

We walked over to the house and stood quietly on the doorstep. I could see Dakota looking nervous, his body shaking and his hands trembling. I held his hand and shot him a smile.

"Go for it Dakota, you can do it."

He gave me a weak smile and turned to the door. He raised his hand, placing it on the door, knocking three times. There was a long pause until we heard footsteps nearing the door which froze us all. The door opened with a creak and it finally opened fully. There stood a guy who looked like he was about our age, dark messy hair, deep hazel eyes and a really tall body. He stared at the three of us and finally spoken.

"Who are you and what do you want?"
