Chapter 21

It was Friday after school. I was at home getting ready to head to Maddie's before the Halloween party. My parents were leaving soon for their trip to Florida.

"Remember to lock the front door when you leave." Mom reminded me as she put on her trench coat. "And don't stay out too late."

I giggled and replied. "Okay mom." She cupped my face and spoke, "Oh honey, I'm gonna miss you so much. Be safe okay?" I smiled as my mom let go of me, "I will mom, you'll only be gone for a few days. Bye!"

"Bye Ruby." She grabbed her luggage and dragged it out the house. "Goodbye honey." Dad pecked my cheek as he followed mom behind her. The cab was already waiting outside. I stood on the doorstep and waved at them as they left for the airport on the cab.

I waited outside for Maddie and a few moments later, Brandon's car came into sight and pulled over. I saw Maddie and Jackson popping out the windows.

"Come on in Ruby, costumes waiting for you back at my house!" Maddie shouted. I giggled and climbed inside the car.

We drove to Maddie's house and arrived a few minutes later. We got off the car and came inside the house.

"The costumes are in my room." Maddie told me as we both walked up the stairs. Maddie turned the knob and the door opened. My eyes widened when I saw tons of cool Halloween costumes hanging around everywhere.

"Are these all yours?" I asked in shock as I picked up a beautiful white angel dress. "Mhm." She nodded with a smile. "I like to collect costumes."

I looked around to see so many different types of glamorous costumes. "How am I supposed to choose which costume I want to wear?"

Maddie giggled as she walked closer to me. "You'll be trying all of them. But I'm going as Frankenstein's bride so don't pick those okay?" I giggled and nodded. I decided to try the Cinderella dress first.

I looked at Maddie but she shook her head. "Uh, don't you think you'll need blonde hair to become the perfect Cinderella?" I just shrug and changed to another costume.

I put on a very tight black Catwoman costume. "Agh-too--tight--" I quickly took it off and grabbed a pirate costume.

I put it on and looked at the mirror. "Um, I'm not feeling it." I took it off and sighed. Maddie sighed too and looked around the room. Her eyes got caught on something.

"How about this?" She said as she picked up a red and black laced demon dress. I grabbed it and tried it on. I turned to Maddie who was giving me a wide smile. "Ruby, you make a pretty hot demon!" I rolled my eyes and laughed, "Shut up!"

Maddie giggled and took out a pair of black wings and devil horns from the closet. "These will do." I grabbed them and smiled. "Thanks Madz."

"Now, we'll need to go do hair and makeup!" Maddie said excitedly.

Meanwhile, we were getting dressed for the party. We finally finished with hair and makeup and I was now putting on a pair of red boots. Maddie helped me out with the black wings and horns.

After we were finished, we stepped out of the room and went downstairs. Jackson and Brandon were already on their costumes downstairs.

"Here comes my beautiful bride. And the red sexy demon." Brandon said as Maddie and I chuckled. Brandon had a Frankenstein costume on that matched Maddie's. They were such a cute couple. A cute green and stitched couple.

"Hey, have you seen my wand? I wa-" Jackson froze when he stepped out the kicthen eyes at me. "Wow you look great!" I giggled and thanked him. Jackson was dressed as Harry Potter, which is no mystery.
