I sheathed my bow back behind my back as the others did too to wherever magic took their weapons.
I crouched down on the side of the river taking out a water bottle. I filled it up with the clean river water and twisted the cap after it was full.
I glanced at my right to find Lucas doing the same thing. I moved closer to him and tugged at his sleeve. He noticed and turned to me.
"Are there really going to be more...creepy monsters out there?" I ask him but instead of being worried and all, he flashed a smile and then leaning closer to me. He pressed a passionate kiss onto my lips with his that were warm and soft.
Just like any other girl who's been kissed by an extremely hot boy, I didn't want it to end. Although it had to wait, we're in the middle of the forest for a wildly dangerous quest so you know why. I opened my mouth letting his tongue in to roam inside.
He finally let his tongue out as I backed my mouth away. We exchanged glances before he finally chuckled. "Yes, a whole lot of them. But you shouldn't worry about a thing. Babe you're a badass, I'm really proud of you."
I blushed can't helping to smile before landing a quicker kiss on his lips.
"Guys, we better get going. Don't want to waste any more time." Leah warned us as we stood onto our feet.
The four of us walked past the lean body of the dead Minotaur before Dakota stopped to look at it.
He kneeled down beside its head grasping for the end of the arrow that had stabbed into his face and pulling it out. Blood squirted from where he pulled but the sharp point of the arrow was not there.
"Ah broken..." Dakota mumbled before shifting to the beast's body. He noticed a leather belt around its waist. He began searching for things around it.
After he was done, Dakota stood up holding 8 shivs with both hands.
"These we can use for weapons." He said walking up to me reaching his hands out. I cock my eyebrow taking the handful of shivs. I didn't think I would need to stab anything other than my bow and arrows.
"You'll need them. You can't use your bow to kill enemies at short range, instead, you can use those shivs." Dakota explained smirking.
I let out an overwhelming sigh shoving the sharp rusty shivs into pockets I had just found on my cloak. There were two of them so 4 shivs in each.
The dead Minotaur had a battleaxe sheathed on his side which it stupidly did not use to defeat us. Dakota eyed the weapon for a moment before turning back to me with a grin.
I took a few steps backwards shaking my head. "No no, these shivs and bow are enough for me now thanks."
We dashed onward through the trees of this deadly forest to continue our journey of saving my ass.
Each time we get deeper through, the sounds of crows, hissing and other creepy things became more clear. My hands and legs began to shiver as it did down my spine.
I could also feel goosebumps forming along my arms. I know I had said I was ready to face anything that was coming its way, I kinda hoped I could take it all back.
Lucas could feel me startled and he reached my hand holding it as we walked. This calmed down my nerves for a bit, stopping my terrible shivering.
"Some warriors like to name their weapons just for fun." He told me creating a conversation to make things less creepier.
"Yeah! My bow and arrow you're using, I called her Artemis because she's the goddess of hunt." Leah giggled as she skipped cheerfully through the forest which is ironic.
