"Tell me who you are or I'm taking you down." The guy standing at the door called out. As we were all stunned at our places, Dakota suddenly yelped. "Isaac, it's me Dakota! We used to hang out a lot man."

There was a long pause until this 'Isaac' guy raised an eyebrow, "Dakota? I thought you were gone.. and L-Lucas? Lucas Vrixon is that you?" Lucas nodded as Isaac pulled him into a hug and Dakota as well. "You guys were so young like what, eight?"

"This is Ruby. And Ruby this is Isaac, Leah's brother." Dakota introduced the both of us as we shook hands, "she's a human." Isaac let go of my hand so quick that he dropped it, "Da hell?"

"Yes she is. It's a long story, we'll explain it to you later on."

He nodded in understanding and gestured his hand for us to come in, "Come on in guys, I don't want you standing here all day." We all stepped into the clean house and Isaac led us into the living room. We sat on a green couch while he cast a spell and three cups of tea flew in the room landing on the coffee table gently. The room was comfy with a fireplace sitting at one side of the room and beautiful paintings hanging all around the faded colored wall.

"Uh, where's Leah?" Dakota asked.

"She's out, doing whatever she does."

Dakota nodded in understanding while Isaac gave him a smirk, "Miss her?" The three of us burst into laughter while Dakota scoffed in embarrassment. "You must've missed me too."

"Oh shut up." Dakota playfully punched him in the arm when Lucas interrupted, "I think I just heard barks."

The loud sounds of barks became hearable as it came nearer and nearer to us. The barks stopped and there stood a big tall furry 'thing', which was a black scary looking dog. We were all frozen until Isaac dismissed the silence.

"Calm down guys, this is our lovely dog, Angel." he explained while kneeling next to the dog as it lied down. He started rubbing its belly while Angel licked his hand.

"Angel the big bad Rottweiler? Perfect name." Lucas joked.

"Hey, your appearance don't always explain your true personality. Angel is the sweetest, most caring and lovable dog out there, aren't you girl." Isaac smiled as Angel cuddled onto him.

As the rest of us watched the lovebirds cuddle, we heard the back door open that made us all stand up.

"Isaac?" A sweet voice of a girl came from outside the room. The sound of footsteps came nearing the room and stopped when a beautiful pale girl stood on the frame of the door eyeing us. She was stunning with long curly platinum blonde hair and rosy cheeks.

"Hey...Leah." Dakota greeted as a smile crept across his face. The blonde girl was shocked as she ran towards the couch and pounced right at him pulling him into a tight hug.

"Dakota! I can't believe it's you, I thought you were gone forever." She spoke still hugging him tight. "I know, I'm really sorry." He replied. "It's been so long, I missed you so much." She added as she released him and looking around the room.

"Lucas!" She cried pulling him into a hug as well. "Wow, this family's got a thing with hugs." He chuckled after being released.

"Uh, Leah that's Ruby."

Leah looked at me pulling out a friendly smile as we shook hands.

"We brought her from the human world." Lucas added which made her flinch.

"You guys were in the world of humans?"

"Yeah, my mom brought us there to protect us from my uncle. I'm sorry Leah if you were worried. We promised we would come back someday."

And then we explained to Leah and her brother about the human world and how the three of us ended up here and that I needed to become a sorceress just like them.

"So...how's Trixwerys while we were gone?" Dakota asked. Leah sighed as she turned to Isaac with a frown. He stood up and walked to the corner of the room grabbing some sort of badge from a drawer.

"It's terrible. Ever since Lucius was in charge, he made strict rules, imprisoned people who violate those rules and sometimes even slaughter them."

"And what about that badge?" I curiously asked looking at the black cross badge Isaac was holding.

"All Lucius' guardians own this badge. A symbol that we would be loyal to him."

"So you're a-"

"Yes, many guys like me were forced to become his guardians. Many guys with parents that are-" he stopped talking as he embraced his sister warmly.

"I'm so sorry, I didn't know."

"It's alright, it was a long time ago."

We nodded in understanding.

"How are you Leah? Do you still go to school?" Dakota asked. She flashed him a weak smile and replied, "I'm fine Dakota, don't worry about me but no, I no longer go to school like always. Lucius had shut down all the schools in Trixwerys and made us kids study dark spells instead at a special facility. It's horrible."

"But I don't understand." I cried out. "Why can't the rest of the kingdoms of Ephiezora come here and stop Lucius? Don't they care?"

Leah shook her head. "It won't be that easy, Ruby. Lucius' powers are very strong, with his dark spells, he has made a barrier around this kingdom and that nobody here are allowed to get out nor people from outside this kingdom come in9 unless they pass the guardians guarding the barriers."

"Anyways, that ain't a problem." Isaac suddenly said as the rest of us turned to him with confusion. "Oh come on guys, I'm a guardian. And a part of my job is guarding the barrier."

"Wait what? You've never told me that!" Leah cried.

"I couldn't do that. If I did, you would ask me to let you out of here, I couldn't risk your life Leah. I'm sorry." He replied as she nodded hugging Angel who was sitting beside her.

"But we'll need to get Ruby out of this fucked up kingdom. Think you could help us with that?" Lucas asked Isaac.

"I'm sure I could, but it's pretty dangerous and risky. We'd need to make sure nobody sees us."

"I'll take it. It's the only way out of here anyways right? We'll make it." I confidentially said even though my heart was beating so fast that it felt like popping out of my chest. Dakota patted my back as he grabbed his bag and searching through it for his map. He placed it on the coffee table as we all circled around it.

"So where's the main entrance of the great barrier?" He asked.

"There will be a huge gate over here at 6th street that leads right away to Nicolai Bridge. From there we would be able to get out." Isaac pointed at a certain place on the map. "You know, there's like a 20% chance we'll make it right?"

Leah scoffed, "Oh don't be such a pessimist big brother, you know we gotta help Ruby."

"I know, I'm just saying." He added. "Anyway, it's getting dark. We should get going early in the morning because I'll be on gate duty so you better get some rest."

"But we've only got two spare rooms." Leah said.

"Don't worry, Ruby and I will share a room." Lucas smirked at me as I pecked his cheek. And so that whelming day ended as we rest peacefully waiting for the big journey we will be making on the next day.
