It was too much for you every day. Ever since you and Bokuto had a huge fight because he thought you slapped [girl's name] for no reason to make her cry, you began to suffer pain. He defended her and not you, yet you're his girlfriend.

Bokuto and you lived in an apartment together after starting college. When you two fought, he walked out of the apartment to stay at Akaashi's place to clear his head. You stayed alone, to suffer nightmares that haunted you when you sleep at night or day. Doesn't matter what time; every time you close your eyes, all you see is demons dragging you down to hell.

You do not like it one bit.

Each night, a demon slowly takes your soul away and you began to grow weaker. At broad daylight, you would doze off in lecture and get scolded by the lecturer. Then, people would notice how pale you looked. At night, you locked yourself in you and Bokuto's room trying your best to let the demon go away when actually that demon was the hallucination of Bokuto abusing you.

She's suffering... and she's going to break.

The next day, you typed in a message for Bokuto and bit the ends of your nail.

To: Koutarou

Help

That one word was the only message you managed to send to him before closing your eyes to get your beauty sleep.

Bokuto had a can of cola in his hand while watching TV with Akaashi. His mind was clear but he was afraid of meeting up with you. He's afraid that when he steps into your shared apartment, he's going to listen to you nagging. But he was also worried that if something might happen to you, he wouldn't know.

"Bokuto-san, your phone is vibrating," Akaashi called from the kitchen and walked to where Bokuto is seating and handed his phone. "I didn't mean to peek but it's from [Last Name]-san."

That caught Bokuto's attention as he hopped out of Akaashi's sofa and grabbed the phone –despite the fact he nearly falls from the sofa— to read your message. He gulped as his hands started shaking, not prepared for what you had to say. After he got the courage, he pressed the screen of his phone and opened one eye which closes.

Help.

Both of his eyes widened in horror as he reads the message. Glancing at Akaashi, his friend nodded for him to go. Bokuto grabbed his stuff that's hanging on the sofa and ran out of Akaashi's apartment. Akaashi sighed in relief. At least the apartment was clear and does not reek of Bokuto's presence. Anyway, Bokuto ran and ran to his shared apartment with you. He figured you were there because... well, you're you. Where else would you be? He finally reached the apartment building and decided to run up the flight of stairs instead of using the elevator. His legs were nearly tiring out but he remembered the message you sent to him, which boost up his energy and he ran like he was chased by a tiger. Finally, after what felt like he climbed up 40 floors, he used his extra apartment key and unlocked the door. He barged in and started sweating buckets.

"[Name]! Where are you?!" He yelled through the space of the now dark apartment. He began to feel the cold and shivered under it. "[Name]?! No, no... she can't be." He mumbled to himself and ran to your bedroom. He didn't hesitate to open it and there you were, sleeping dead. Not moving but you were breathing heavily. He ran to your side, moving the strand of your hair behind your ear. He felt something wet on his fingers. You were sweating. You were whimpering but your eyes were closed. "[Name], listen to me, baby. It's a nightmare. Please wake up. Baby, wake up. Please..." Somehow, your breathing turned calmer. Bokuto had hope in his eyes. It was working. You were getting your consciousness back. "Yes, yes. Listen to my voice, babe. I'm here. Whatever it is that's scaring you, fight them off. You can do it. You're strong." He said whatever to make you wake up again and when you were finally calm, your eyes shot open before breathing in a sharp breath. Bokuto flinched back, thinking he might startle you. You coughed and coughed, wheezing for air. Your neck felt like someone was strangling you. "[Name]...?"

Your eyes widened when you hear your lover's voice. You look up to see him worriedly gazed at you, his expression clearly stated he was scared, for you. "K-Koutarou?" you weakly called his name.

"Oh my god," Bokuto breathed and pounced on bed with you, hugging you tightly around your waist with his face dig into the crook of your neck. "You scared me.. I thought something happened to you but I never thought..." he paused, the scene from before playing in his head. He closed his eyes. "We-Were you having a terrible nightmare?" he said in a soft whisper. He began stroking your hair.

"Y-Yeah," you managed to answer. "Ever since... you left."

"God..." You felt something wet at the side of your neck. Bokuto started crying. "This is my fault. I remember now," he paused, swallowing his saliva in his lump throat. "When we moved in together, your mother told me about your terrible nightmare. A nightmare where you see darkness and you end up losing your consciousness for 3 days."

"I was only 4 back then..." You sniffed. "I see... a black figure who I assumed was a demon traps me in its hold. I knock my head then had a minor coma. When I was in a coma, I had continuous nightmares. I told myself to never go to sleep depressed..." You immediately stopped when you felt Bokuto tightening the hug. You felt guilty for making him feeling bad. It was not his fault but he felt like it is. "I'm here now. You're here with me. I'll be OK." You assured with your hands stroking his soft hair.

"Y-You sure? I could help you get someone to talk to. Akaashi might know someone.." he suggested quietly. When you didn't respond, he pulled away to look at you. "[Name], I know you think you're crazy but to me, you are just having a nightmare, like every people do. But, with the addition of getting help, who knows the nightmare will disappear."

"You'll help me?"

"I would do anything for you," he said slowly, gazing into your eyes intently. "Now, stop crying and show me your best smile. My girlfriend should be smiling, not crying." That made you chuckle a bit, hiding your smile in his shoulder.

"I love you, Koutarou."

He kissed the top of your head and squeezed you more. "I love you forever more, [Name]."

Extended Ending

"Bokuto-san, it's me, Akaashi."

"Akaashi," Bokuto whined from the other line, grunting as he sat up on bed. "I was sleeping with my girlfriend, man. Its 3 am for god's sake, what is—"

"I'm sorry for disturbing you but your delivery was sent to my house. The thing is, my girlfriend thinks it was mine and now she thought I'm cheating on her. There's condom, dildo, a rose and—"

"Oh, crap. That was for [Name]! I'm sorry, Akaashi!"

"You better..." Akaashi grumbled, rubbing the huge bump on his head with ice pack. "[Girl's Name] is throwing a tantrum in our room..."
