Kageyama Tobio || Say Something

requested by Hisaye. Kageyama refused to speak after he lost his first love in junior high. After entering high school, doctors could not help him and no one, not even the volleyball team, has ever heard him speak. Until...

Kageyama still wouldn't talk even after he and (f/n) started dating - he developed feelings for the girl when she requested to become manager and assist Yachi in case she needed assistance. The boy was happy inside when he knew he get to spend time with his girlfriend every day after practice.

Even though he didn't utter a single word, (f/n) accepted who he is and loved him the way he is. When she felt like babbling, he was there to listen. When she shed tears, his shoulder was there for her to lean on. The words were exchanged but none minded.

Before he lost will to speak, his first love told him she loved his voice. After she died though, Kageyama wouldn't speak anymore because when he hears his own voice, memories of them together came back. It hurt him emotionally to the extend words could not describe how he feels anymore. And so, he locked his voice and was never intended to unlock it again.

After he and (f/n) started dating, Kageyama wanted to speak again. For (f/n)'s sake. He was paranoid; he wanted to tell her assuring words whenever she felt insecure about herself or sing her to sleep when she has insomnia. He was afraid that one day (f/n) would leave him for not speaking to her while they are together.

Little did (f/n) know, Kageyama was struggling to let his voice free again.

The match between Shiratorizawa and Karasuno was intense and tiring for both teams but none back down. After 4 sets, Karasuno won the finals and the crows cheered loudly as they can. Kageyama was smiling widely as the others cried in happiness. Tanaka hugged him and Hinata.

Kiyoko, Yachi and (f/n) ran down to congratulate the guys but Kageyama grabbed his lover instead, gulping his saliva.

"I... I-I love y-you (f-f/n)." Was his first word and it was to her. Her eyes widened in shock and slowly she shed tears. Not from sadness but she was proud.

"HE SPOKE!" The boys cheered again and huddled against the couple who ignored the lack of space and shared their loving kiss. Pulling away, (f/n) smiled back.

"I love you too, Tobio."
