"(y/n).. This isn't going to work out between us.."

Feeling shocked, your question stuttered, "K-Keiji? Why?" You refused to believe it but Akaashi's face showed no emotions yet there's a hint of sadness and guilt on his face. He refused to look at you and shook his head unable to answer you. Your throat was in pain to cry it all out but you gulped it down. You gave up wanting to know his reason. He was in his 3rd year and he's going to college soon. Of course he won't stay with you longer. He is going to find another girl to be with for the rest of his life. He'll smile more. He'll speak more. He'll marry her and have children with her. You are just a high school lover to him, not something more. "I see.. I never expect it but if that's what you want, then.."

Akaashi stared at you with so much sadness and was about to reach for your shoulder but you turned around and left. Your fists were clenched tight from holding your cries. Your lips quiver, your eyes filled with colours turned dull, and your heart was nearly breaking into half.

When graduation finally comes, Akaashi searched for you. In the crowds is his old teammate Bokuto who clapped his hands proudly like a mother would do with her children. When he didn't see you though, his shoulders dropped. Being with you until his 3rd year was too short. But he felt like he has been with you to eternity. The break-up was what's best for him and you so why did it felt like a part of him was gone? Why did he let you go? Was it reasonable or was it only because he didn't want to ruin his relationship with long-distance? It was better than a long-distance breakup but it still felt like crap. He looked up again to search for you. He uses his 'senses' to look for you but no, you were not there. You went home to pick up your younger relative from sports activities.

His graduation celebration involves everyone from his volleyball team, Nekoma and Tsukishima. Again, he searched for you. He knows you were upset about the breakup but he never thought it'd affect the friendship in it too. Now you're not around to be there for him, he was devestated that he has no thrill to celebrate his graduation. Bokuto got drunk at midnight and so does Kuroo. Tsukishima was the only one sober to speak with the depressed Akaashi.

"Akaashi-san, do you mind if I ask you something?" The megane blond asked.

Akaashi looked at him, "Sure.."

Tsukishima raised an eyebrow at the short answer but he asked anyway, "If you love (y/n)-san so much, why did you break it off? When I called her yesterday, her sibling answered instead."

"I guess she didn't want to keep her phone anymore," He chuckled half-heartedly, "Of course she wouldn't. Our memories consists of messages and photos are in it." Leaning forward, he put his elbow on his knee. "She told me before we broke up, 'Keiji, if you're far away, would you let me go?'. G-Guess what I answered?" He turned to Tsukishima who pursed his lips, "I said, 'I'd bring you with me wherever I go.'" Tsukishima looked away feeling guilty by his question but Akaashi continued with tears in his eyes, "I s-sang to her as a promise and she cried. Ha, when I think about it, I'm a jerk." Akaashi hid his face in arms and sobbed but the music was blaring loudly so no one noticed. Tsukishima did and rubbed his older friend's back as he cried.

"I'm sorry, Akaashi-san. I didn't mean to make you remember it.. I just thought you two loved each other that long-distances don't matter to you." Tsukishima said. Akaashi pull his head away from his arm at Tsukishima's words. "But, it's not too late to change and do it better, Akaashi-san. That's what you told me before."

That night, Akaashi had to drive the 3 of his friends home with Tsukishima sitting on the passenger seat. On the way to send the 3 of them home, Akaashi received a phone call from Yukie. Tsukishima helped to answer her and put it on speaker. "Yukie-san, you're on speaker." Tsukishima informed.
