Am I better off dead?

Am I better off a quitter?

They say I'm better off now

Than I ever was with her

As they take me to my local down the street

I'm smiling but I'm dying trying not to drag my feet

"This," She'd start while gesturing to both her and Iwaizumi with tears stained on her cheeks. "Is not working for us anymore, Hajime. We're not compatible like we used to be. All we do is fight over everything."

"So you're just going to give up?" Iwaizumi's voice strained from yelling previously. "We can work this out, (f/n). I love you and I still do. Don't do this to us."

But she shakes her head, indicating it wouldn't. "You and I both know that if we stay together we'd fight and disagree about everything. I don't want to hurt you and our relationship. You have work, so do I."

"Please don't leave me, (f/n). I promise we will work things out." Iwaizumi held her face stroking her cheek. "I can quit my job and take care of the house while you do your own work. I'll spend more time with you. Just don't leave me." He begged as he slowly cried, looking into his lover's eyes for answers. But nothing.

He saw nothing but tears in her eyes. He knew what she was going to say and he can't stop her from saying it.

(f/n) removed his hands from her face and placed them on her chest. "I love you, Hajime. But don't quit what you love to do so you could be with me. I won't hold you back anymore. You're free now."

"(f/n), please."

"Goodbye, Hajime."

They say a few drinks will help me to forget her

But after one too many I know that I'll never

Only they can't see where this is gonna end

They all think I'm crazy but to me it's perfect sense

It was a depressing month for Hajime - 2 weeks ago, he had broken up with (f/n) and she moved out of their shared apartment. Now, he lived alone. He'd come home to no one singing 'Cheap Thrills' by Sia everyday or dancing to 'One Dance' while messing up the living room floor. He'd watch TV alone, even horror, and held no one but a small pillow. He'd eat dinner at the square table for 5 people. He'd shower and not see his other half's naked body from behind.

He chugged down his 7th booze and asked for the 8th one, concerning his old friends. Oikawa stopped the bartender from giving him the cup, "No more, Iwa-chan. You had enough."

"I'd do anything to g-get (f/n) back... and it's still not enough. I might as well just drown in my despair. I'm nothing to her anymore. She has moved on." His voice slurred and snatched the small glass of vodka and gulped it down. "One moreee!"

"Oi, Iwaizumi. That's enough, man." Hanamaki tried to say but Iwaizumi pushed his hand away.

"Go away, Hanamaki! Leave me be to die here. I don't," He paused and hiccup. "c-care anymore. I'll go home by myself..."

"Like hell we'd leave you here." Matsukawa used all of his strength to carry Iwaizumi over his shoulder and paid for the drinks. "It's almost 2AM, Iwaizumi. Let's head home."

"There's no home for me anymore... eh, Matsukawa. Why is your ass huge?"

Hanamaki sighed. "I told you not to do squats and you still do it. He'd grow gay on you, Mattsun."

Matsukawa casually shrugs his shoulders, moving the body on it. "I work out too, okay?"

"You're so gay."

"Like you're not."

"Touche."

And my mates are all there trying to calm me down

'Cause I'm shouting your name all over town

I'm swearing if I go there now

I can change her mind, turn it all around

"Alley-oop." Matsukawa plopped Iwaizumi on his bed earning a groan from the male and helped removing his shoes. "Oikawa, get a bucket, will you?"

"For what?"

"So he could put his head in it." Hanamaki smacked the brunette. "For him to throw up, you twit. He chugged down 8 cups of vodka. He's going to get a hangover tomorrow. A painful one."

Oikawa winched at the slap on his head. "You didn't have to smack me, Makki. I knew it's for him to throw up in it anyway.." He pouts at him before looking for a bucket.

"(f/n)!!!" The 3 males heard Iwaizumi yelled and ran to him, finding him crying in his pillow. "I-I love y-you, (f/n)! It hurts, (f/n)! I need you, babyyy. I really do." His hand flew to his mouth and puked on his sheets, causing chaotic in the room.

"Oikawa, what took you so long with finding the bucket damn it!"

"Iwa-chan has so many- eW! He threw up on his bed!"

"No shit! Get a towel!"

"Don't pressure me, Makki! He has so many towels!"

And I know that I'm drunk but I'll say the words

And she'll listen this time even though they're slurred

So I, dialed her number and confessed to her

I'm still in love but all I heard

Was nothing (nothing, nothing, nothing)

Iwaizumi stared at his phone screen for the 30th time in just one day - he planned to call his ex girlfriend and ask how she was doing but it's been so long since he last sees her and it was eating him up. So many thoughts run around his head; does she have a boyfriend, did she move away, I bet she has a boyfriend. It was driving him crazy. How much he missed (f/n). She was his world and he let her go. He regretted he didn't try hard enough.

When finally he had the guts, he pressed 'Call' on his phone screen and placed it on his ear, hearing it ring. He chewed on his nails as it kept ringing.

Was she busy?

Did she change her number?

Is she ignoring m-

"Hello? Hajime, is that you?"

Iwaizumi sat straight and smiled a bit, "H-Hey, how's it going, (f/n)? U-Uh I'm just calling to see how you're doing."

He couldn't see her face but (f/n) was happy to hear his voice. "Hajime... you have to stop calling when I'm not around anymore."

His lips quivered, knowing this isn't true. "I-I know but... I missed you. So much, (f/n). I should have stopped you from leaving or you won't be-"

"Hajime, the earthquake incident wasn't your fault, damn it." He could imagine her scowling at him. "You still have Tooru and the guys with you, though. This is not your fault."

"B-But-"

"It's not like you could predict it'd happen, Hajime.."

"Shit, (f/n)! It should have been me! Why you?! Why must you die, (f/n)?!"

That's right - a week after Iwaizumi got drunk and a hangover, there's an earthquake happening in Tokyo one day and (f/n) happened to be in the city when Iwaizumi was on his way home from work. He happened to see her walking around alone when the earth suddenly falls apart, bringing (f/n) down deep into the earth. Her and the rest of the citizens including vehicles and buildings. Iwaizumi saw it all.

He saw you die before him.

He dialed your number again a month later and this time, no one answered. He knew, for sure, that you aren't going to be there to answer him anymore, even after a break-up. He knew you were gone for good when he heard nothing.
