❝Don't try to explain your mind
I know what's happening here❞
It was easy to read Kageyama's face whenever the two of you fight. It was just too easy, it's scary. You can read his expression, so he was either mad at his volleyball strategy that went downhill or he's mad at you for avoiding him. He took it the wrong way when he saw you in the halls not acknowledging him. He took it that you never understood his feelings. But you do.
You just want him to clear his head. He loves volleyball more than you love anything so you took it seriously. You want him to focus on his volleyball before he could turn it to you. But Kageyama, being the hot-headed animal, thought the negative side.
❝One minute it's love and suddenly
It's like a battlefield❞
When you two first dated, you were inspirable. Nothing can break the two of you. Nothing can separate you from each other. You were like glue. He was your Romeo; you were his Juliet. He's the huntsman; you're the snow white. You loved each other, showing affection towards each other.
But as months pass by, you were drifting apart. You'd fight over small things, disagree over things you used to agreed together. You'd rolled your eyes at each other when you're angry. He would click his tongue, you would huff and turning your head away from him.
Love is like a battlefield.
You ran your hand through your hair as you watched Kageyama playing his volleyball, distancing himself from Hinata. They started ignoring each other since last week. Probably a few days after you two fought. Wow, Kageyama. You're going through a rough week.
"What's wrong with you and Kageyama, (y/n)-chan? You two used to be so close." Suga sat next to you. Suga was the brother-figure to you and he cared for you since you're also a part of the volleyball family. After Yui retired, you joined the girl's volleyball team.
"We're just not this close anymore, Kōshi. I'm worried about him. Even Tsukishima asked me yesterday."
Even though you and Kageyama are dating, Tsukishima is that friend you could mock the others with. He began to like you as one but he never lets his guard down, mocking you when he could.
"Hm. Have you asked him?"
"Didn't bother to. He snaps so easily. Why I dated him in the first place, you asked in your head. Everyone wondered, I could see in their faces."
Suga showed a guilty face. "Guilty as charge."
You relaxed, putting your hands behind you as it supported your leaning figure. "He's a mirror."
"M-Mirror?" Suga watched you curiously.
"Mirror," you repeated. "When I see him, I see myself. I see a girl but a reflection of a boy who had trouble in the past. We want everything to be perfect yet struggling so hard to do so. We lose friends because of our arrogance. We lose our temper over small issues. But that's one of the good thing about us; we're similar and the same. Two becomes one," you sighed. "But I just realized that we're two things that trigger a bomb. I don't know the perfect name for it but—"
"I understand, (y/n). But Kageyama also has been down lately was because of you."
"Me?"
Suga nodded. "Maybe because you were avoiding him while he's struggling with his plays. Now, he and Hinata aren't getting along. It's been a week now, (y/n). He deserves to have you by his side right now."
