Sydney's POV
"Who's she?" I asked noticing a skinny woman with long brown hair and blue eyes
"You don't recognize me?" She replied to my comment almost hurt
"Am I supposed to?"
There was a short silence as I looked at Nash and Hayes and neither of them could make eye contact with me.
"Nash Hayes?" I asked but they both stayed quiet "Cam?" I added but he just turned the other direction
I sighed then looked back at the women who still hadn't taken her eyes off of me.
"You've grown so much. You're so beautiful Sydney." She said walking closer to me making me take a few steps back
"Don't be afraid of me sweetheart." The women said in a soft kind voice
"I don't know you." I replied still searching for answers
"I'm your mother Sydney. I'm Elizabeth." She said coming closer again
And again I took a few steps back.
"No. I don't know you. No. That's not possible. She died years ago. When I was a baby." I said confused as tears threatened my eyes
"No I'm right here sweetheart." She said sweetly as she rubbed my arm gently with her hand
"Stop calling me that!" I said and pushed pass her as I walked into the living room with her on my heels
"Stay away from me okay. You can't help." I snapped as I saw her out of the corner of my eye
"I can help Sydney, I'm your mother, I know you." She continued sitting next to me on the couch
"Stop! Just Shut up! You know nothing about me! You're not my mother and you never will be! Just leave already!" I yelled as tears were now streaming down my face and I stormed out the back door of the house leaving the women sitting in shock on the couch
I heard the door slide open then close and I felt a hand on my shoulder then someone kiss my head.
I turned around to see Nash and Hayes standing there with guilt all over their faces
"No. No you guys no." I said already knowing it was true
"Syd-" Hayes started
"No. She's dead. She died in a car accident 11 years ago and we lived with Aunty and Sky until last year. She's gone." I said falling to my knees as I continued to cry harder
Nash knelt next to me and embraced me tightly into a hug
"We thought so too until we figured out who bailed Dad- I mean Chad out of jail.." Nash said starting off the long conversation yet to come
"But why would she do that? He hurt her. He hurt you and Hayes. He hurt us." I said still lost
"She wasn't dead when the cops came to the house that night. She faked it and the cops let her get away because they knew she couldn't take care of us but she couldn't bare the fact that she had to give us away herself." Hayes started to explain
"So she just left?"
They slowly nodded
"Then why is she back? Why did she help him?" I asked getting angered now
"She wanted us to be a family again and she thought he changed. She made a mistake and now she knows she can take care of us and be there for us." Nash said
"No." I stated simply
They both looked at me confused
"No. I'm not letting her do this. I don't care what she thinks. She LEFT us. She left four kids behind having to learn on their own. Dealing with the pain of loss. I'm not doing this again. She's not causing me anymore pain. I'm done. I don't care if she's our 'mother' if she cared she couldn't have left, she wouldn't have disappeared, she wouldn't have caused us pain." I continued as they both listened and more tears came down my face
"She saw us in pain. She saw what she did. And yet she continued to let us feel that pain." Hayes said quietly as he looked at the ground
Nash without a word got up from his spot next to me and walked inside closing the sliding door behind him.
Nash's POV
Hearing Hayes and Sydney talk like that hurt me and I'm not letting them go through that again.
I got up and walked inside closing the door behind me and stood confidently in front of her
"Mo- Elizabeth. I think it's time you leave." I said as she made eye contact with me
"What? Why?" She asked confused
"You left us. You let us feel pain and go every day mourning the loss of you, just to find out that you abandoned us instead. If you cared you wouldn't have left us. You couldn't have left us. But you did. And we don't need you anymore. We've gone 11 years without you. The 4 of us have each other's backs and are there no matter what. I'm not putting those two through anymore pain." I said pointing at Syd and Hayes who were watching through the glass door from the backyard
"I'm your mother Hamilton. You have no right to talk to me like that." She said back outraged as she slapped me across the face leaving a slight pain in my cheek
"Get. Out. Now." I said through clenched teeth as she looked back at me with steady eyes "Now!" I yelled and watched as she walked towards the door
"And if I ever, ever, see you again.. We are going to have a problem." I added before she closed the door behind her.
