Sydney's POV

I woke up to my alarm going off and groaned getting out of bed.

I heard my phone buzz and saw it was a text in the group message with Savannah Shelb and I.

Shelbs🙈: hey guys don't forget to wear tie-dye today!

Me: thanks Shelb! I already forgot lol😜

Sav🙉: thanks!!

The three of us have been hanging out nonstop these past few weeks and I literally love the two of them.

The big homecoming football game is this Friday so all this week in school is spirit week.

Monday: tie-dye
Tuesday: superhero day
Wednesday: favorite sports team
Thursday: twin/triplet day
Friday: school pride (school colors)

I went to my closet and picked out my fitted blue and purple tie-dye shirt, my light blue skinny jeans that are faded and have rips, and my blue and purple tie-dyed vans. I left my hair down wavy and put on light makeup then grabbed my phone and bag and headed downstairs to see Nash and Hayes both in tie-dye.

I grabbed an apple then we waited for Matt to pull up and we drove off to school.

Matt was acting kinda weird and barely said a word to me the entire drive to school.

Once we pulled into the parking lot Matt just said a quiet bye then walked away not even giving me a hug like he normally does or waiting for Nash or Hayes.

Hayes gave me a weird look and I just shrugged before hugging him and Nash then heading to the middle school.

••••

The day went by quickly and I was hoping Matt was back to his normal self after being around all his friends the whole day.

Nope.

Matt drove us home, dropped us off, waved, and drove off.

Wtf.

••••

The rest of the week Matt still barely talked to me and I was getting kind of pissed off because everything was fine then he just like pushed me to the side.

I don't think I did anything wrong, I mean Nash and Hayes literally bought a place in Virginia so I could be with him..

There's something up but I can't tell what it is.

••••

Finally by Friday I kinda gave up hope and figured I did something and stopped trying.

During lunch Matt didn't even sit with us, all he did was text me 'I'm sorry' but wouldn't tell me what he was sorry for.

Although not even 5 seconds later my question was answered..

"Guys I have a very important question to ask a very beautiful girl who is a major part in my life." I heard Matt say as he stood up on a lunch table

My heart started pounding thinking he was talking about me.

"It took me a lot of time to come up with a way to ask you and a lot of nerves had to be overcome, but I think I can do it now..." He continued as he glanced over at me but then turned towards the other table

"Bobby, will you please do to Homecoming with me?" He asked and my heart literally shattered right then and there.

I just lost one of my only reasons to smile, my only reason to live, my only reason of happiness.

And he left without a goodbye, without an explanation, without even a hesitation of hurtness or regret.. He just left.

Sorry for such a short chapter and such a long wait but I am ending this book in a chapter or two so I just wanted to let you all know that I appreciate all the support you have given me throughout this book and hope you like the end of the book! ❤️
