Sydney's POV
"There has to be some mistake.." Nash said to the lady who was still standing there
"I'm sorry, I wish it was. Can you two please come with me so we can ask you some questions." She said kindly
Nash got up placing me on my feet so I was now standing.
He took my hand and started to follow Detective Green.
I just stood there not wanting to move.
"I'm not going." I said with teary eyes when Nash looked back at me
"Can you please give us a moment." Nash asked the detective as she gave a nod and stood off to the side
"Come on baby girl. Hayes is going to be okay and we're only going to be gone for a little bit then we will come straight back. They need us to help find Dad and to figure something out. It won't take long." He said kneeling down so he was eye level since I saw now sitting in a chair
I shook my head again "don't make me leave Nash please. I need Hayes and I need to be here for him." I said crying again
He hugged me.
"I know but this is important. It's not going to take long. I promise you I will take you straight back when we are done." He begged
I sighed and got up walking closely behind Nash.
We got into her detective car and we drove off to her work place.
They brought us into a room with a small table, a couch, some chairs, a coffee machine, and a vending machine.
"Please take a seat." She said and I sat down right next to Nash.
She asked us questions on him and when was the last time we saw him, if he's contacted us since he went to jail, if we thought he was following us, if he had a motive to attack us. The basic type questions.
We answered all the questions the best we could and I only had a few breakdowns.
They thanked us for coming then told us we were allowed to leave and had one of the other detectives drive us back to the hospital.
We got back and I immediately found my seat again.
"There hasn't been any word." Cam said sitting next to me
I nodded then stared at the door.
We only had one more day until they were going to pull the plug and it gets harder and harder to breathe each minute.
The rest of the day was quiet and I stayed in my seat just continuing to stare at the door.
Once all the guys fell asleep at around 12:30 am I got up and went to Hayes' room.
I pulled my chair up to the side of his bed and looked at how pale his skin was.
"Please Hayesie. Get through this for me. Please. I can't do this without you. Please. You're my best friend and I need you." I whispered crying
His hand started to move and his eyes slowly opened.
"Syd?" He asked with his weak voice
I hugged him being careful of all the wires and tubes.
We hugged for a while and the room was silent until Hayes spoke
"I'm gonna die aren't I." He said weakly
I took a deep breathe trying not to cry and stay strong for him but failed.
"Y-you're go-gonna b-be st-stron-strong." I said between crying
He didn't say anything he just looked down at the ground.
"Te-tell me y-you're go-gonna b-be str-strong fo-for m-me." I said as he looked at me
"Syd.. I've heard the doctors talking and it doesn't sound like I'm gonna pull through." He said the last part quietly so I could barely hear
"Please don't go." I said taking a deep breath as Hayes pulled me closer to him so my head was on his chest.
He held me in his arms and he started talking about random things to help calm me down.
"You know there's a nurse here and she looks like a giraffe." Hayes said after a little pause
I giggled
"There's that smile." He said poking my cheeks causing me to giggle again
He always knows exactly what to do to make me smile.
We talked a little longer then he started to get sleepy.
"Get some rest Hayes." I said going to get up
"Don't leave." I said taking my arm and pulling me back down
I laid back down and listened to his hearts steady beat as he fell back asleep and I soon did too. Finally getting some sleep.
Cam's POV
I woke up and saw it was 7:25am.
I looked around and everyone else was still sleeping but no sign of Sydney.
I got up and went to Hayes' room where she normally is.
I walked in and saw Sydney lying in Hayes' arms as they were both asleep picture at the top
I smiled to myself and took a picture. 'They're still inseparable. Get well soon bud she really needs you @hayesgrier @sydneygrier' I posted it on Twitter and Instagram.
Since they were both sleeping I went back to the waiting room and sat back down as the guys slowly all started to wake up.
"Where's Syd?" Nash asked worried as he woke up and looked around the room
"She's sleeping in Hayes' room." I said then took my phone out and showed him the picture I had taken. He smiled then his eyes got teary.
"I don't know what I'm gonna do if we lose him Cam. Nobody knows Sydney better then he does. They're always together and are so close. I don't want to lose her as well. She's gonna be a mess, more then she is now. And I don't know if any of us could cheer her up." He said
I brought him into a hug.
"You're not going to lose him. He's going to fight, he's a strong kid and I know he's not ready to give up on everything." I said reassuringly
He nodded then sat back in his chair running his hands through his hair
"Everything is going to sort itself out and be okay." I said looking at him
"I hope so."
