The first few minutes of the walk were spent in silence. I could see a smile creep onto Tony's face from the corner of my eyes.

"About last night," he finally said, breaking the silence.

"The fireworks were nice," I smiled.

"Yeah," he nodded in agreement.

"It's nice out today. Not too cold, but not too hot." I said as we continued to walk.

"Look, I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable last night," he sighed.

"You didn't." I assure him as we stop walking.

"I don't know, you seem uncomfortable," he sighed as he looked at the ground.

"Look at me, stop being stupid," I smiled as we made eye contact.

He gave me a small smile before looking at the ground again.

"You're so weird," I laughed.

We continued our walking, passing numerous old couples and people walking their dogs.

"Did you eat breakfast today?" He asked we walked up to a cafe.

"No, but I can eat at home. Spending money on me this early is weird," I giggled.

"No, it's okay. I insist," he smiled as he urged me into the cafe.

We took a seat at the table by the window. I watched people pass by the cafe, looking in as if they are contemplating whether to eat here or not. Most of the people ended up coming in and ordering a cup of coffee.

I looked around at all of the couples surrounding us. I couldn't help but think about how long they were together, what they had been through, when they had met. It probably sounds weird, but I guess I'm weird like that. I wonder if other couples look at Tony an I and think the same thing. Do they think we look weird as we sit by each other? He doesn't look like the clean cut guy that girls like me would go for, but he is incredibly attractive. He looks rebellious, but caring. That's just who he is.

"Brooke, are you okay? Did you hear me?" Tony said as he poked my closed hands.

"Oh, no, sorry. What did you say?" I stuttered, shaking the thoughts of other couples out of my head.

"What do you want? Coffee? A muffin?" He asked as he points to the menu hung by the cashiers.

"I'll just have coffee and a doughnut please." I said with a smile as I scanned through the short menu.

He nodded, smiled at me, and walked to line up to order.
