"Katie!"

"Katherine!"

"Dude! Wake up! We're gonna be late for school!" Meredith called one last time before I heard her walk away.

I wiped my eyes and looked at the time. 6:57 am.

Crap! School starts at 7:20 am. I jumped out of bed and rummaged through my closet for something to wear. I didn't have the time to care, so I picked out black leggings, an oversized pink sweatshirt and my tall grey ugg boots. I quickly brushed my hair out and and went to the bathroom to brush my teeth and all that fun stuff.

When I finished I checked the time again. 7:07. I grabbed my backpack and ran down the stairs.

"Finally!" Meredith scowled at me, walking out the door to my car. I quickly ate the chocolate muffin she left for me and bolted out the door.

I sped down the streets to school, turning a fifteen minute drive into a five minute drive. I pulled up into the school's parking lot and Meredith ran out the door into the school. I now have 3 minutes before school begins and my homeroom is on the other side of school.

Great.

I pulled my keys out the ignition and sprinted into the school.

30 secounds left encounting. I climbed up the stairs and saw my classroom on the other side of the hall. One thing was blocking the way: Jeffrey. I really don't have time for his bullshit right now. I ran and tried to pass him, but he blocked my way.

"Going somewhere?" He smirked. "We need to talk."

I managed to quickly crawl under his legs and proceeded to run to my room. He looked at me, stunned.

The bell rang as I opened the door. Everyone stared at me, including the teacher.

I looked at him hopefully, but he simply frowned.

"Late!" He said furiously, handing me a pink detention slip.

"What?" I stared at him at disbelief. "But I made it on time!"

"Would you like another day of detention for arguing with me?" He raised his eyebrow.

"No," I muttered. I stuck my tongue out at him and flipped him off when he turned around, earning chuckles from the other students. I sat in the back and slumped in my seat.

Well I'm officially starting my day off in a bad mood. Fantastic.

I managed to skip lunch and avoid my friends. I'm not in the mood to explain anything to them. It was now the end of the day and I made my way to room 102: the detention room. I was hoping I'd be the only one there, but I spotted a familiar blonde girl in my grade named Kelsey in the seat closest to the door and Jeffrey two seats down. He winked at me and I scowled.

"Can I just do community service or something?" I pleaded to the detention teacher.

"I don't want to be here as much as you do. Take a seat," He shrugged. I sat in the far back corner, as far away from Jeffrey as I could be. I looked down at my desk, but I felt him stare at me and it made me really uncomfortable. I decided to silently play games on my phone until I saw I got a message from Justin.

'Why rnt u home? :/'

Deciding I had nothing better to do, I replied back.

'maybe i have things to do'
