"Justin?"

Nothing.

"JUSTIN?"

Nope.

"GET UP."

Nuh-uh.

"Guess I'll get the water bucket."

"NO PLEASE KATIE," Justin shot out of bed as quick as a bullet.

"Calm down, hun," Pattie chuckled.

"Wha-what's going on?" he rubbed my eyes tiredly.

Before she could answer, Justin heard footsteps and yelling a distance away.

"I WANNA SEE JUSTY FIRST," said an all too familiar feminine sqeak.

"JAZMYN, YOU BETTER WATCH YOUR BROTHER!"

'Am I hearing this correctly?' Justin thought.

"YES YOU ARE!" Jazmyn, Justin's stepsister, ran into his bedroom and jumped on the bed to attempt to be as tall as him.

"Be careful!" Justin's dad, Jeremy, warned. He was holding Jaxon, Justin's stepbrother, in his arms.

"Jazmyn!" Justin hugged her, fully awake. He hasn't seen them since the beginning of his tour about year ago. After a while, he also hugged his dad and Jaxon.

"Merry Christmas," Pattie joined in the group hug.

"Did you lot forget about me?" Erin, his step mom, stood in the doorway with a smile.

"Of course not, dear," Jeremy let Erin into the hug. Justin felt his mother cringe the slightest bit. She has moved on from the divorce, but she hasn't been able to find a partner yet unlike his father.

"Mama, I'm hungwy," Jazmyn whined when everyone broke from the hug.

"Oh yes! Justin, we were waiting for you to wake up, but-" Erin started.

"But we knew you'd sleep through New Years," Jeremy murmured, interrupting Erin. Everyone laughed.

Walking downstairs, Justin smelled the delicious aroma of chocolate chip pancakes and hot cocoa. He could also sense the beginning of the prestigious baking of peppermint cookies, butter tarts, fruit cake and... gingerbread?

As he walked into the kitchen, he noticed two little gingerbread houses coated in frosting and other delicacies. He guessed those were Jazmyn and Jaxon's presents.

"Who got the kids gingerbread houses?" he asked, taking a seat.

"We did," Erin gestured between her and Jeremy.

His eyes switched their focus and landed on the elaborate Christmas tree, wrapped in vibrantly colored ornaments, ribbons and homemade decorations he remembered making when he was Jazmyn's age. His eyes trailed up to the bright and glistening star on top of the tree, towering over everything. It was his favorite part of the tree. To him, a star was a symbol of hope and of believing that if you shoot for the stars, you can become one too. Overall, the tree was beautiful.

'Beautiful,' he thought. 'Katie would love it.'

"Who's Katie?" Erin asked, taking a seat across from him. Everyone else was settling in their seats as well.

"I-uh-um," Justin fumbled, feeling himself glow red. He didn't know why he was so nervous to talk about her. She was all that came out of his mouth when he was with Ryan and Chaz. He then came to the conclusion that he shouldn't be worried about what his parents thought of her.
