I looked at him as I held his hand. My boyfriend. My baby. My hero. My everything. The gifts he's given me ever since we met were amazing, although they're burnt to ashes now. Tonight he gave me the best thing- the mother of all presents. He saved my sister's life, and I will always always be grateful. Now there's really no way I could ever repay him back.

I began stroking his hand lightly with my finger tips, hoping the gentle caresses would comfort and soothe him.

I made my way up to his bare arm. He had left his jacket in the car, and the suit was taken off before he got in the ambulance. I made sure to chuck it hard at the rude and inconsiderate fireman.

"I'm... sorry about your house," Justin's sudden voice made me jump.

"Put your oxygen mask back on!" I demanded. "I don't want you getting hurt more than you already are."

"Katie, I'm fine, really," he tried to reassure me.

"Well the paramedic told me to make sure you don't talk. So... just listen to me to pass the time."

He obliged and put the mask back on. I thought for a moment.

"I'm sorry you had to spend so much money on me just to have it burned to ashes. Everything except my purse with my keys, phone, and wallet, are... gone," I bit down on lip to prevent myself from crying.

I took a shaky breath. "But that's okay. Items can be replaced, but lives cannot. As long as my family is okay, everything is going to be fine.

"Me and my family are going to need a new place to live. While they're in the hospital for a few days, I'll have to search for temporary accommodations," I sighed. "I love my family so much. I haven't been paying too much attention to them lately-"

"And that's my fault," Justin expressed sadly. I glared at him and he quickly put his mask back on.

"No, it's not your fault. I've just been immersed in everything besides them. If I lost them, I'd never forgive myself.

"But I'm not going to worry about it right now," I sniffed. "You're alive, and they're alive. That's all that matters to me. Thank you, again. Your act was selfless and brave. You were braver than I was at the woods, because you knew what you were walking into. You had a clear head, and a clear image. I'll always be grateful to you, and-"

He put a finger towards my lips to shut me up and smiled. He then motioned one, four and three with his fingers.

"I love you too," I smiled. "I'll shower you with hugs and kisses later."

"I can't wait to see the look on Meredith's face when she finds out she was saved by you," I said after a moment of silence.

"She already loves you, but she'll love you ten times more and never stop talking about it," I rolled my eyes and chuckled. "You're our hero. Do you know that she doesn't even know that we're dating?"

He narrowed his eyes at me in a reproachful way.

"I'm sorry! I didn't want to tell her! I knew she'd freak and follow us wherever we went. God, she's going to hate me when she realizes I've kept it a secret from her. We're sisters; we should be able to tell each other everything. I'm an idiot."

He flashed me a look of sympathy. He then let his eyes travel down my body until they landed on my shoes. My six inch black stilletos.

"I wonder how I'm still wearing these, too. I didn't pay any attention to them all whole night."

He gave me a stern look.

"Alright, I'll take them off when we reach the hospital. Which is... now," I said as I looked out the back window.
