[Justin's POV]

"Justin, I checked the entire house. They're gone," Erin announced.

"What about the kids and Pattie?" I asked.

"They're gone too."

"Oh no," I sat down and held my head in my hands. Erin paced back and forth, thinking.

"I shouldn't have listened to her. I should've gotten her out while I had the chance. This is all my fault," I said, defeated.

"Don't beat yourself up-"

"What choice do I have? This could've been avoided. Why did I bring her here?" I pounded my fist on the table. "What's going to happen when her family finds out she's missing? Or worse?!"

"Don't lose hope yet. Why would he harm her if he has his children with him? Maybe this is all a big misunderstanding and they all went for ice-cream?"

"Yeah right! He's crazy! He kidnapped her right under my nose!" I took a breath. "I will not rest until I find them."

"Then what are we waiting for?" Erin tossed me the keys to my Ferrari. "You might want to put some clothes on before we search for them."

"Right," I nodded and hurried up the stairs in my pajamas.

"Justin?"

"Yeah, Erin?"

"You might want to see this."

I hurried down the stairs in presentable attire.

"What is it?" I asked. My eyes drifted down to her hands where a yellow sticky-note rested.

'If you find this, you must've realized your family's missing. If you don't want anyone hurt, you will tell no one, especially the authorites. I'm watching you. You do care about your family, right? Especially your little girlfriend. She's good company. Too bad your time with her was cut short. Want her back safe? Come and get her.'

I clenched my jaw. "How are we supposed to get her if we don't know where she is?!"

"Maybe there's something hidden in the note that pin-points the location of where she is."

I stared at Erin in shock.

"What? You know I watch too much Law and Order," Erin grinned.

"Okay. Well I don't see any clues on the note," I sighed after investigating it.

Erin closely examined the note as well. She then motioned me to follow her to the window. She pointed the note directly in a ray of sunlight. It was soon followed by a subtle crackling noise. I stared at the note as it turned from yellow to a pure white.

She then removed the note from the ray of sunlight and brought it to her nose.

"Just as I thought," she proclaimed. "The note transformed from yellow to white via a chemical reaction. The heat must have catalyzed it."

"Okay, so what does that mean for us?" I was growing impatient.

"I'm not sure. No hidden message was revealed," she thought for a moment. "Maybe the color change is symbolic. Does anything come to mind?"

I looked at her with a confused expression on my face until an idea hit me.

"The Grand!" I exclaimed.

"The what?"

"It's a building that was recently painted white because the yellow color was unappealing. However, the owner went bankrupt and could no longer afford it. It's been abandoned ever since. I have a friend who's interested in property buying who mentioned this to me. It's only a few miles away from here! Do you think that's the place?"
