It was when it finally sank in that I realized my brother royally fucked up. There are many things that have drawn my brother to make mistakes, but this is the worst yet.
Even after everything went down he was pouting about it like it wasn't his fault when it was. I fell into his trap like I did all those years ago and now I'm regretting it.
I should've left him at that club so he would realize just how much his tiny brain is messed up, I should've let him beg Brittni for forgiveness, but I didn't and I can't take it back.
"Britttni, I-I don't know what to say," I respond brokenly while she sniffles.
"Neither did I. I thought we were doing fine," she cries. "It makes me wonder if their is another girl-"
"No, no, Brit," I shake my head. "There is no other girl. You're it for him, Brittni he's just scared."
"Scared of what?" She asks, wiping at her tears while digging into the ice cream.
"He's scared of being let down, like how my parents did that to him. He was on his own when my parents would change the date of their arrival and I think that's why he went into sleeping around, but then he found you," I smile and grab her hand as she listens to every word. "You changed him, Brittni, he could never not want you."
Her eyes search mine for any sign of bias and I honestly don't blame her, but I'm not saying this just because he's my brother. They both deserve happiness, but they need to realize they are each other's happiness.
"Really?" She asks softly.
"Really," I grin, as soon as the words leave my mouth she already has her arms wrapped around my body in a strong hug.
"Thank you, Nikki," she pulls away. "For everything, for being such a good friend all these years and excepting your brother and I, it means a lot."
"Thank you for everything," I smile sadly at her. "I know I kind of neglected you when everything with Colten happened and I'm happy that you had my brother for you."
We both giggle and hug each other one more time before going back to eating ice cream and catching up on the latest episode of Teen Wolf.
At around five there's a knock on the door causing me to perk awake at the thought of my sexy husband.
"I'll get it," I grin and give her a hug before heading to her front door.
Letting the slab of wood swing open I gasp in shock at my brother holding flowers with a smile which quickly turns to a frown.
"You're not, Brittni," he says making me slap his shoulder.
"Shut up, she's in the living room and by the way, she told me what you said," I glare at him. "By Brit!"
"See ya, thanks for the ice cream!" She shouts back and I glare at my brother one last time before moving around him to get to the car where Colten leans against the passenger side with Flowers as well.
I grin, a blush covering my cheeks as I walk up to him.
"These for me?" I ask.
"No, they're for my car," he rolls his eyes and kisses my cheek, handing me the beautiful bouquet of white roses.
"Well, thank you, they're beautiful," I smell the buds, closing my eyes at the spring feeling even though we're only in the midst of winter.
