As I sit next to Colten in the waiting room of the doctors, I feel my anxiety start to take over making me bite at my nails. An old habit.
"You're making me nervous," Colten says, eyeing my wreck of a figure.
"Sorry," I apologize and begin to bounce my leg up and down instead.
"Baby," Colten moves closer to me, putting a hand on my leg. "Calm down, please, you're going to make me explode."
I attempt a smile and peck his lips. "I'm a bit nervous."
"Really?" He sarcastically says making me slap his chest playfully.
"Be quiet," I scowl. "Aren't you a bit worried too?"
"Of what?"
"Me not being pregnant," I pause. "Or something being wrong with me."
He chuckles. "Baby, you took three tests all of them saying the same thing. And as far as something being wrong with you, I highly doubt it."
I nod, and jump when the door opens. Doctor Lafridge is once again going to be administrating my appointment today.
"Nikki Mathews?" I get up from my seat and get pulled back a few steps, Colten's mouth right next to my ear.
"You didn't change your doctor?" He growls, and I giggle nervously.
"Oopsies," I laugh anxiously making Colten swear to me that if the doctor touches me inappropriately he'll kill him.
Colten wraps his arm around my waist as we walk towards the doctor.
"Nice to see you again," I smile at him, shaking his hand.
"You as well," the man nods and leads me off to the examining room. "You can take a seat on the table, and you sir can stand next to her or sit in a chair-"
"I'll stand," Colten cuts him off sharply making me glare at him and mouth 'be nice'.
"Okay," the doctor smiles, ignoring Colten's hostility and sanitizing his hands. "I'm guessing you're mister Mathews?"
"Yes," Colten glares at him making me jab him in the stomach. "I'm Colten."
"Nice to meet you," Dr. Lafridge smile. Something along the lines of a grunt leaves Colten's mouth. "So, I see you came in for a pregnancy test?"
"Yes," I nod, fidgeting with my fingers. Colten grabs my hand and squeezes, making me relax slightly.
"Alright then," he smiles. He's always smiling.
Colten's POV.
It's really hard not to cuss this guy out. I have a right to after he saw my girls goodies her last visit, right?
And his smile. His creepy, pedophile smile, it's always on his face.
"Alright then," he says. "So I'm going to give you this cup and you can use the bathroom down the hall for the urine sample."
I bet you he collects urine samples from all his patience. Plus, what other man would willingly become a gynecologist if he wasn't messed up in the head?
"Okay," Nikki smiles and grabs the cup from his hand before heading out the door, leaving me with the doctor.
"So," I speak up. "What made you want to become a gynecologist?"
The man chocks on his own spit at my question. Bullseye.
"Well," he clears his throat. "I guess, I've always wanted to be a doctor and thought gynecology was a good way to go."
