Three hours since they left the old man's ranch, the group finally spotted the entrance of the Soul Town.
The town's gate was not that huge when compared to new Tokyo. But it was rusty and already broken. Although only half of the gate was left, two vehicles could probably enter it at the same time. And just by sensing the shady atmosphere around the town's entrance gate, there was that feeling that this place was in fact, a ghost town.
Vincent then jumped from his horse.
"This is the perfect spot to camp."
"Aren't we going to camp inside the town, Vincent-senpai?"
"We still don't have enough information about this ghost town, Masuda-kun. And we can't afford to lose our horses as they're our only means of transportation in case of an emergency."
The party had set up their camp several meters outside the entrance gate of the Soul Town. There, Vincent was holding four electronic-looking rods that he stabbed on the ground.
"Huh?"
"What's that?"
To the rookies' surprise, the tip of each rod suddenly emitted a blue light. That same transparent light was then connected to each other, producing a squared wall-like light with each rods on its four corners. The light eventually vanished upon forming a square.
It was the indication that their camp was successfully assembled.
"What's this awesome gadget, Vincent-senpai?"
"It's one of those technologies developed by a friend on Trinity. It's nothing special since this was only developed based on Haley Ambrosia-sama's technology."
"So what does it do?"
"It's basically a transparent tent..."
"Transparent tent...?"
"Yes, Masuda-kun. Instead of cloth, this technology uses a specialized light that not only repel mosquitos and other beasts, it also serves as an artificial heat. So we don't have to do a camp fire."
"But what if it rain?" asked Frederyk.
"Well, that's one of its flaws, Conway-san. Like I told you before, this is just a small equipment based on Haley Ambrosia's technology that could alter the weather. Though this rods are still in development..."
"So Trinity have those kinds of laboratories too, huh?"
"That reminds me, you're working on Haley-sama's mansion, right Yosuke-san?"
In that moment, the janitor boy saw Frederyk Conway's sudden gaze at him, emitting a burning aura around his body. His eyes was like that of a demon that made Yosuke looked pale and turned his head at their team leader.
"U-Um Vincent-senpai, S-So what are we going to do now?"
"It's wise to resume our mission tomorrow because it's already dark. However, I believe it's the best time to fill up some holes in our map."
"Map?"
"The map that I have obtained was drew a month ago during our contractor's attempt to build a building here. Even though it's only a month, I believe that workers ants might have already change the structure of this town alone. There could be many ant holes scattered in this town, that's why it would be best if we knew the best route before our hunt."
"But why now? It really dark and those giant ants might attack us helplessly." argued Yosuke.
"It's really simple..."
