"This is... bad!" smiled the janitor boy. "I'm really a masochist..."

After those dust subsided, Yosuke Masuda was in front of the giant champion beast, standing on his feet with his whole right arm augmented with small sparks of lightning.

Should I run...?

That question popped out of his head as Yosuke didn't have any plan on his own. The only thing that could probably save him against the champion beast was his Modified Abilities. Though, using those abilities had also a problem of its own.

Although Yosuke kept on practicing those lightning abilities Haley Ambrosia gave him, he was yet to see a documentation or an explanation from its own ability engineer.

To make things more complicated, this was the first time the lightning element was augmented not only on his whole arm, but also on his two legs. He had no idea how it happened. All he knew was this ability could somehow help him survived fighting against this beast.

But Yosuke Masuda was now alone with this champion beast. Yosuke didn't have those people who had helped him in fighting those monsters he had encountered earlier in the past. And to make matters worse, this was not just an ordinary champion beast. It was an S-Class.

Even though this beast had already suffered Frederyk Conways's Wind Slash rampage, there were no scratches or wounds inflicted anywhere on its body.

It was clear to Yosuke that winning was impossible. The only thing that he had to do was to buy at least three minutes for his comrades to escape, and he could disappear on this darkness alone.

The janitor boy then stretched both of his legs and prepared for his signature run-and-run tactics.

This is seriously bad. Vincent-senpai and Frederyk-san didn't even left any wounds on this beast.

Yosuke took a deep breath and held his Flame Sword firmly.

All that I could do now is to believe in her!

And with Yosuke displaying a sweet smirk on the champion beast, he charged at the with all of his might!

"!"

Yosuke dashed straight to the champion beast with a speed on par with Laura Lancaster's Haste Support Ability. The only difference was... the path he had ran through was left with small trails of lightning sparks before disappearing in thin air.

The giant horse anticipated Yosuke's action and countered with its forelegs. It raised both of its front limbs in the air, attempting to crush the janitor boy who just rushed towards it.

Yosuke quickly changed direction, dashing on his right side before encircling to the beast's rear, directly avoiding the range of beast's sudden attack. Although he dodged the beast's counter attack easily, the beast's legs singlehandedly shattered the ground to pieces.

"!"

Jumping was probably much easier thing to do. But Yosuke didn't want to repeat that same mistake he had done before. He had already suffered the consequences when he jumped motionless in midair in front of this horse-type beast.

"That plan really went smoothly." surprised Yosuke. "So this lightning ability can give me a boost on my speed, huh?"

Yosuke Masuda's strategy was to stay on the beast's blind spot for a while. He believed that in staying near on the beast's rear which was one of its blind spots, not only he could avoid the giant horse's attacks, this plan alone might buy much more time for Yosuke's comrades to escape.
