Chapter Sixteen: An Egg?

Shimmer Prov:

As I left my lesson for the day I went for a walk to think about the news I had just heard. I could become the first ever human with Unicorn or Pegasus magic... It was an amazing thought to think of but it scared me the same time. As I was walking along I could hear something falling from the tree. I looked up just in time to see a huge egg falling, I then ran and jumped and caught the egg using my body to break the fall.

"I'm glad I managed to catch this." I say aloud and then hear the sound of hooves galloping towards me.

"Are you alright Shimmer?!" Mystica says looking worried.

"Yes Mystica I'm ok, I saw this strange egg falling and decided to jump up to catch it." I say holding the large egg tight in my arms.

"What a strange looking egg." Shooter says walking over and sniffing the egg.

"What should we do with it?" I ask looking at the egg.

It has strange markings that reminded me of dragon scales but at the same time it didn't look the right size for a dragon egg. The markings on it were a pretty teal colour and I felt like this egg was moving.

"Well my dear Shimmer I think you need to look after this egg. It clearly doesn't have a mother to care for it so you will have to keep it warm, and then it will be able to hatch and we can find out what kind of creature it is." Mystica says smiling at me.

I nod my head and stand up placing the egg down for a second to wipe some dust off my dress, the dress was beautiful it had some star designs all over it and it was a blue and purple background.  Once I got my new powers I would be able to wear new clothes depending on what magic power I had.

I pick up the egg and walk over to a tree where I've been spending most of my days learning all that I would need to, to be able to use my new powers so I sit there and wrap my body around the egg to keep it nice and warm. As the sun starts to set I think about walking over to join the rest of the clan and go to sleep with Mystica and Shooter. But instead I feel my eyes start to go heavy and find my self falling asleep by the tree with the egg nestled in my body.

--------------The Next Morning-------------

When I wake up I notice the egg next to me and see small cracks start to form along it.

"Come on you can do it!" I say picking up the egg and running over to where everyone is sleeping.

"Its about to hatch everyone!" I say placing the egg down on the floor quickly.

As we all stand waiting and watching the egg crack more and more, I start to feel very exited because whatever is in this egg could be my new friend. I haven't had a friend before apart from Eclipa. As the egg continues to crack everyone becomes more and more exited. Then all of a sudden the egg starts to glow slightly and crack more and more until it lifts it self up into the air and cracks open to show.....
