Figuring Out My Heart

Hey Guys.

So this is a new poem I've just written after having a conversation with my best friend about what I should do in a situation I'm still figuring out. I'm not perfect but I'm still learning my ways. I'm young and decisions get made sometimes from not thinking.....I guess that's a habit of mine. But yesterday I finally told my best friend the truth about my situation....now I'm trying to work out my situation.

Words like a fire gun,

Burning me, I'm falling,

I didn't mean to scold you,

I didn't know what I was sayin',

I've let myself be influenced,

I'm sorry for almost breaking your heart,

I let a dark mind poison me,

Blind me till I only saw me,

Emotions cloud judgement,

I know that now, I'm still a child deep in my heart,

I'm learning my ways, falling into holes and coming back up for air,

My feelings towards you are like a battlefield,

I'm fighting and giving up,

You were never meant to be the one,

'Sarcasm' is written on my forehead,

'Serious' carved right above my heart,

I'm telling you the truth,

What's the point of lying when I've been through it all my youth?

I've played my cards all wrong, I haven't been so smart,

The game I've started was foolish girl's game,

I didn't want attention, just be loved by someone a little differently,

Be cared for and have someone to call me theirs,

By now your heart must be in tears,

I promise I'll pay for the repairs.
