A/N: Hey Guys.
This new poem was written after I got inspired by a quote from "Clockwork Prince" from The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare.
"We who are immortal, we are chained to this life by a chain of gold, and we dare not sever it for fear of what lies beyond the drop."

We, the immortal souls,
Are chained to the life by a chain of gold,
We do not dare to sever it or break it,
Fore we have the fear of what may lie beyond the drop,
Change of point of view
Mortal coil we are,
We don't live for an eternity,
We are born, we grow and evolve,
Avoiding the thought of the shrinkage
Following our age damaging our brain cells,
Our fragile bones, giving them a dark shade, some warm tones.
Before our eyes shut and our blood runs cold.
Every vain turning to grey, desiccating in the blink of an eye,
In many hearts around us creating deep, unfilled holes.
