HARU
Haru distracted herself by jingling her leg. Her jaw went up and down, making her upper teeth and her lower teeth produced sound, that only she could hear inside her head. She was exhausted and dizzy.
The music in the ballroom played by the musicians was too loud and people around them talking and eating made it worse. She hates loud places, she felt like she couldn't breathe with all these people around them.
The newlyweds were seated at one of the tables. They were inches away from the dance floor. There weren't many people dancing, only some old couples, and Hunter's parents were waltzing their way around it. She loved to see people dance, she and her mom never missed a chance of watching dance movies and reality shows.
There was something in dancing make her felt like it was a whole part of romance. The intimacy of the partners, the way their bodies sway together perfectly, it was almost magically and sadly vintage. Her generation never liked these type of activity, the only activities they like are sex and other sexual, kinky things. She couldn't blame her generation either, she could barely dance herself. No with the high heels she was wearing tonight. She knew the back of her feet was red and swallowed. It did hurt but she needs to wait a little longer for this ceremony to finished and then go home...
Go home?
Oh right, she moved to live together with Hunter... thank goodness that she has her shoes ready in case if that man would attack her, she could just slam the heel into his eyes or something.
She was so into in her thoughts until she could feel a slight tap on her shoulder. It was Hunter. He was already standing beside her and lending his hand.
"Will you dance with me, moya zhena?" (My wife)
"You can dance?" She stupidly blurted out. Hunter gave her a soft grin. "Well, matter in fact I do."
Haru didn't have much choice. She could tell that most of the guests were already staring at them. After all, they were the king and queen of tonight's ceremony.
Haru reluctantly accepted and put her hand on Hunter's.

The music stopped when the two stepped on the dance floor. Hunter held her hand until they were in the middle of the dance floor. The people who danced stopped dancing. It was a tradition for the bride and groom to dance first and to dance the guests shall see.
"Your hand, put in on my shoulder." Hunter guided her hand to be placed on his shoulder, she was confident that she flushed red when Hunter's palm pressed on the small of her back.
When she could feel his breath near her ear, it was when the music started. The familiar harmony made Haru wander and she wandered, Hunter picked up her rigid hand and softly hold it. His hand was warm between her cold one.
They moved as the pianist pressed the piano's keys softly but quickly. She knew this symphony. It was one of her favorites. The way the music played didn't make her realized that she was closing her eyes.
"Chopin's..." She mumbled to herself. She didn't realized she tipped her toes, dancing so beautifully.
"Exactly." He said. "Noctrome Opening 9. Number 2." Her eyes flew open, astonished. "How do you know my-"
"Favourite symphony? Well, I have my fare and secrets that I would like to keep." He smug. His answer couldn't help bring goosebumps all over Haru.
Can Hunter for one second not being creepy? She had already completed on running away so many times. Hunter chuckled.
"I asked your mom. Apparently, you've been playing in your previous room very loudly for the past five years." She flushed. Her mom wasn't any help either.
It seemed that Elsa likes this guy. A lot. Haru didn't know what her mother saw in him. She pretty much sure that Elsa liked him because he was handsome, rich, and gangly. Every day before their marriage, her mother couldn't stop talking about this guy.
"Look Haru! He cooks! And he's very handsome too!" or "At least he dresses better than your dad and better than the only guy in this house!" trying to annoyed Hiro for always wears ugly T-shirts and basketball shorts. Maybe Elsa should marry him instead of Haru. Yet, it might be awkward if they ended up together since Hunter was the same age as Haru's eldest sister, Hillary, who was now dancing with some guy (Hunter's man) near them.
Haru suddenly hissed. "Are you alright?" Hunter was quick to respond. "Fine." She said softly. "My feet are just swollen from the heels."
"Then we should stop dancing before it getting worst." Hunter brought their holding hand to the top of her head, he spins her, two times and she blatantly hit his chest when she did the final twirl.
Goshdanggit.
Hunter clicked his fingers, the musician did the final score of Chopin's art, and then everybody clapped their hands.
For a moment, it felt like there was only two of them on that hall. It seemed like the loud noises around them disappeared when she looked at his calm expression. Hunter shyly chuckled, and his eyes dropped where her hand was dangling beside her hip. He took it slowly, and looked to her again, Haru didn't feel shocked when he kissed the ring that was around her finger. She didn't feel anything.
"It was a marvelous moment when I danced with you."
Haru tried to at least to not frown. She bit her lip. "Me too." She said. After that, the noises distracting them again.
"Hey, son! Come! Come! Nishiro and the others want to meet you." Vladimir's voice boomed behind Hunter. His small father gripped his shoulder, he was smiling too much, maybe already drunk. "Come! Come!" He said again.
"I should." He looked at her as if he needed her permission to go. She nodded slightly.
"Seat. Rest. I'll help you treat your feet condition right after this." With a heavy look planted on his face, he left with his father.
He left Haru in the middle of the dance floor, like a girl in her school prom, without a date.
