{A/N} ENJOY!
HARU
"You really don't want me to be there?" Hunter pleaded on the phone as Haru walked on the road to her family's home.
Haru scoffed, she wanted him to be here. "It would be brief. My Grandma wants to have a family dinner. It's mid-Autumn festival in Japan. She hasn't seen me for about a month, remember?"
"She likes me." She was sure that Hunter was grinning. "She would love if I was there."
Haru smiled, almost near to the house. "Maybe you should be here." She said. "But you have work." She reminded him.
Hunter sighed in defeat. "I'm trying to finish today's part. I never thought how much Luca's part was. I wish I was there with you right now. I missed you already." His words made her flushed pink, and she could feel flowers blooming insider her heart.
"Haru, I gotta go." Hunter's voice suddenly became quite rush.
"Yeah, okay. See you tonight."
"I can't wait to see you tonight." He said and cut the line. Hunter left her walked by herself. The road along the townhouse was busy on an Autumn evening. Haru saw kids riding their bikes on the side of the road, old people sitting on a bench beside a newspaper booth, talking about something, old aunties sat by the stairs of a house, gossiping. She missed this part of Brooklyn, she used to have this giddy feeling every time she went back for the weekends from her school. The air smelled like delicious kebab and newly published newspapers, the sun peaked between the crack of buildings.
About a block left before she finally arrived at her family home, Haru saw a familiar silhouette of Njiiro Hinata.
She paused from walking for a moment, sucking air inside her lungs. She hasn't seen Nijiiro since the night of the auction, almost three weeks ago, where he and Hunter were battered from a brawl. Memories flashed inside her head.
It took several seconds for Nijiiro to be aware of her presence near him. His mouth parted and his eyebrows rose as he walked to her.
"What are you doing here?" It came out as a curiosity. Haru never thought of Nijiiro would come near her neighborhood. Or how he knew she would be here, on this day.
"You like classical music right? Chopin's?" He fired back with a question. Haru slightly nodded.
"Then, why didn't you learn an instrument? Or apply for music program?"
It was a stupid question. "Because I cant play any instrument. Besides, learning music is expensive. My family don't have that kind of money." She said matter infactly. She liked the sound of violin and piano, but spending money to learn them was impossible for the Walt family.
"It's Autumn." Nijiiro said, "And the orchestra is one week away. So," He dug his pocket, Haru waited. When he finally shoved a piece of fancy paper to her, Haru already knew what it was. Their college will held an orchestra with their own music majors participating in, Haru knew because she and Sasha went to almost of their practice sessions, supporting the fraud, Ash Lockhart.
"You can come with Hunter." It sounded rushed, the way he said. Haru took the time to read the pamphlet. She felt relieved that there was no one name Samuel on the performers' list.
"He dropped out." Nijiiro answered her, Haru looked at him. "About a week after the auction. I came to practice and our maestro suddenly said he dropped. Family emergencies." He informed. "And I'm sure he would never be back there."
