{a/n} I am SO SORRY for not updating last week *bows 90 degrees* (In case you all wondering, my update schedule is 2:1, which means I update two weeks in a row then I don't update the next week and I'll update a chapter the next week after the non-update week).
I've finished my finals and I have two months of semester break so, I started to work the next day after my final paper and I've been hella busy because this is what retails do to you.
Anyways, I'm sorry for not updating but here it is! ENJOY! -Amni :D
HARU
Haru ran her fingers through her wet hair. She just finished doing couple laps with her swimming club members and it was almost draining since she didn't have breakfast this morning. There were fewer students here now since the summer vacation was starting. Haru could just go home and just spend her summer doing part-time jobs and her hobbies, but she didn't need to since Hunter happened. Going to swim was a good way to avoid him at least.
"YOU ARE MARRIED?!" Haru's friend, Sasha asked, jokingly. Well, it certainly gave Haru a heart attack!
She brought her hand when her wedding ring was around pressing to her chest. Defensive. "My mom gave to me as a birthday gift."
"It's June and your birthday is in December." Sasha threw her wet tower in her locker and sighing, sat on a bench behind her.
"Early birthday gift." Haru smiled awkwardly. She knew that this would happen. That was why she chose the most subtle ring. Yet, Sasha Singh still noticed it.
Haru didn't want to take it off. Because of a) even when it looked subtle, the tree small diamonds on the rings are 28 karats each, which means expensive as hell. B) She always misplaced her things, and Haru wouldn't risk on misplaced her ultra-expensive (probably the most expensive item she owned) diamond ring.
"Ugh! I'm soooooo tired." Sasha claimed and let herself lay on the bench in their university's locker room, even when it was little damp.
She changed the topic, thank god.
Haru faked a giggle. "Sasha, you ate two cups of ramen this morning and you only did three laps. Where are all the energy went?"
Sasha smiled and pat her muscular stomach. "What great unhealthy food. Ohhh I spent my energy by fucking my boyfriend."
Haru threw her towel at Sasha's face. "TMI!" Sasha sat up and threw Haru's towel back at her. "Okayyyy, my friend. Sorry-" she snorted. "And you u smelled like chlorine. Fucking wash it off."
Haru effortlessly caught the towel in her hands and shoved her goggles inside her locker. "I'm going to." She said and make her way to the shower.
"Haru, your swimming skills are great. Why not you join as a regular?" Sasha always tried to pursue her on joining for competitions. Well, she was a sports junkie and the president of the swimming club. It wasn't a bad idea, for starters, Haru finally has a sport that she was good at, yet... considering all those competitions she had to join if she was a regular, made her cringed. She didn't need more stress, she already got it from her dad.
"Nah," Haru quickly, always declined. "It's my senior year, I just want to lay low." Excuses, excuses...
"Would you come to swim during summer break, though?" Sasha looked hopeful.
"I'll see." Haru finally said and smiled warmly at Sasha. She motioned her arm to the shower room to excuse herself. "Alright. I hope you go cause I'll be lonely." Sasha pouted. "Samuel will be busy with the orchestra and I need you."
