I'll keep you safe. You keep me wild.

"Mr Hemmings?" A marine asked standing on the stoop outside of the house in Tempe.

"Yes? How can I help you?" Luke asked standing in the doorway.

"I am sorry, Sir, but your wife, Command Sergeant Major ChrisJacob Hemmings-Myers, and her team have been declared missing in action" the marine replied with a sad look in his eyes as he handed him the document.

"No! This can't be happening!" Luke yelled refusing to take the documents.

"Luke, what's going on?" Brianna asked running to the front when she heard him yell.

"I'm sorry" the marine replied when she took the paper from his hand, turned and left.

"No," Brianna sobbed as her eyes flitted over the page, "No! She can't be missing!"

Ashton got to the door just in time to catch Brianna as her knees gave out with the sobs that racked her body.

Luke and CJ had just gotten married a month before, and didn't have much time for a honeymoon because she had to leave the week after for a classified mission. She and Luke were going to try for a baby when she returned home from her deployment, but now it seemed impossible with this news.

If the US government was sending them this letter they had no clue where Chris and her team was and now Luke had to tell his in-laws that their little girl was gone.

Ashton picked up his wife as Luke slowly got up from the floor to call Chris' parents.

"Hey, Luke, what's up?" Jonathan asked as he picked up the phone.

"Can y'all come over?" Luke asked his father-in-law.

"Sure thing, we'll be over in thirty minutes" Jonathan replied sounding concerned, but wasn't questioning why Luke was asking them over.

"See you then" Luke replied and hung up.

As he set his phone down he had to work to keep himself from collapsing due to the pain he felt in his chest.
