Picture this: it's 10 years from now. You're married. Nice home. Good job. It's Christmas. Your kids are asleep. You and your spouse are on the couch having a drink and watching TV. It's snowing outside and tomorrow's Saturday. All the hard work was worth it. You made it.

CJ's POV

"So, you're the girl that's dating Luke Hemmings?" A chick whispered as we stood at attention waiting for the days drills to start unable to hold her questions for a time when we were able to talk.

"Yeah, why?" I whispered back staring straight ahead trying to be as inconspicuous as possible, not that I would actually get in trouble for talking.

"That's really cool, but if you're dating this hot, rich, band guy, why are you here?" She questioned making me roll my eyes and have to hold back the anger I felt like I chose this career for money and not because I was destined to serve my country.

"Because I'm my own person and even with a rich boyfriend I will support myself" I quipped trying and failing to not sound rude, causing myself to sigh internally to myself for not being nicer to the girl that was trying to become my friend.

"Oh, that's cool," she shyly replied with a small smile telling me that she had caught my anger but wasn't giving up, "I'm Sloane Mackie."

"I'm ChrisJacob Myers, but I'm pretty sure you already knew that" I smirked still facing forward trying not to laugh.

"Myers, how about you come out here and show your fellow maggots how to disarm and take down an enemy three times your size?" Our drill sergeant yelled stopping the convesation between Sloane and me.

"Ma'am, yes, ma'am!" I yelled back stepping out of line to face a hulk of a Marine which caused me to raise an eyebrow at him.

He looked to be special forces and didn't see me as a threat. I analyzed how he moved to pinpoint any weaknesses he might have. Of course every guy has one, but I'm not into the cheap shots to take down my attacker. From what I could see he was in good shape, no healing injuries so he would take a bit longer to take down.

I could see the girls gulp as they looked at him. They don't think they'll ever be able to take down someone his size. I guess I really will have to show them how it's done. No matter the size of your opponent you always had a fighting chance if you knew what you were doing.

I cracked my neck and bounced on my toes to prep my body. I nodded to show I was ready and Hulk came at me. I moved instinctively as he tried to take me down and to block my moves. With each action I took I could see the surprise on his face and slow realization at who I was.

After about five minutes I had my legs wrapped around Hulks arms and torso to keep him from reaching up to pull me off. My arms held his head and neck in a choke hold as I waited for the drill sergeant to call it. I looked at her as I saw him slowly growing red the longer I held the position.
