The White House

The most touching line said by a best friend, "when I die, don't come near my body. It is because my hand may not be able to wipe your tears."

I sucked in a deep breath as I got off the chopper and stared up at the White House.

As I focused back on what, more like who was in front of me, I realized President O'Malley was already waiting for me. I resisted a shiver as the cold November wind hit me, but the President still noticed it.

"Master Sergeant Myers, how about we get you inside and out of the cold?" O'Malley asked with a smile.

"Sounds good to me" I smiled nervously following him and his Secret Service agents inside.

"You're probably wondering why you're here, am I correct?" President O'Malley asked sitting across from me on the couches in the Oval Office.

"You would be correct, President O'Malley" I nodded with a shy smile.

"Please, call my Martin. I've heard a lot about you, my dear, and after that successful mission I wanted to meet you" he smiled kindly.

I looked at him in confusion and prayed it was nothing embarrassing.

"Well, you are kind of all over the media because of your boyfriend and his band. My daughter is also a huge fan of you and your best friend. She watches your YouTube page religiously and my son used to watch your skateboard competitions" Martin smiled causing me to blush.

"Oh, Luke's the amazing one. I just serve our country and date a foreigner. There really isn't anything special about me" I argued with an even deeper blush.

"I have to disagree with you on that. You speak 25 languages fluently, are working on ten more, have a wide variety of hand to hand combat training, are working on a medical degree which you put on hold to serve earlier, and you have an amazing voice" he argued back.

"Sir, Tara, Jack, Grace, and Will are here" an agent stated popping his head in.

"Oh, send them in!" Martin exclaimed with an excited smile, "Have you talked to Luke and Bri since you got stateside?"

"No, Sir, I have not, why do you ask?" I questioned furrowing my eyebrows.

"I'd like to have them here along with your family. Tell all of them to bring something nice to wear along with enough clothes for the week. Oh, and they will be flying on Airforce One well Airforce Two since I won't be on the plane" President Martin smiled as his four kids walked in with the First Lady, Katie O'Malley.

"Yes, Sir. Would you like me to do that now?" I asked reaching into one of my pockets for my phone.

"Yes, that would be great" he replied with a smile.

I nodded as I stood and removed my phone from one of my many pockets in my cargo pants since I hadn't changed into my dress blues.
