I believe some men run from strong and independent women because we WILL question, we WILL be better at something than you, and we WON'T blindly follow.

One Year Later

"Luke, it's time to wake up" Calum's voice spoke as he nudged his best friend already knowing that he wouldn't want to get over.

"Why?" Luke grumbled covering his face clutching onto the pillow that CJ slept on when she was home.

"We have to go watch Randy's game since CJ can't be here, and it's Marine week at ASU" Brianna replied walking into the room that Luke and Casey shared in the bands massive house in Tempe sitting down on the end of the bed.

"Alright, I'm getting up" Luke sighed rolling out of bed and walking into his and CJ's massive walk in closet trying to ignore her side because it just reminded Luke that CJ wasn't here with him.

Around Christmas last year the band had decided that it was smarter for them to move to the states because they were there all the time to work on their music, and they had become duel citizens. They convinced the girls and their best friend Randy to move in with them, but they compromised with them and moved to a gated community in Tempe. Luke had enjoyed watching CJ design the decor of the house.

Luke and CJ had agreed to wait until she was 21 before they got married which meant they weren't getting married until June of the next year because she had been deployed once again about six months back. Luke's heart had broke having to watch her leave again, but he knew she was doing what she loved.

The past five months had been very busy for the band and had kept Luke distracted, but the past month they hadn't been doing much and had been in Tempe a lot more. Luke was having a hard time with how much he missed Chris, and today seemed to be a particularly difficult day for him. Bri wanted to be able to sit in bed with her brother and eat junk food all day, but they had promised Chris that they would go to all of the home games.

He had stayed up late a few days before Face-timing with Chris since today was her birthday and she wouldn't be able to talk to him because her and the team were going to be unreachable for a week. He had wanted to plan a party for her birthday, and maybe even pay for a new tattoo that he knew she had been designing.

"It just doesn't seem right that she's not here for Randy's first game as an ASU football player" Luke stated once he had finally appeared in the kitchen where everyone else besides Randy was making the room look up at him.

"Yeah, I know, but it's the sacrifice she has to make for this job" Brianna sighed knowing that he was going to feel this all the time, unlike her Luke didn't have the practice of having Chris coming and going like she did when they were growing up.

"Come on the game starts in an hour and a half and we have to be there early" Calum spoke grabbing the keys to the SUV trying to get Luke excited for the game even if Chris wasn't able to be there.
