Chapter 26

I sat down at the beach and stared at the waves. I must’ve looked a little strange in my skimpy black dress and sitting in the dirty sand practically ruining it.

I had a small flower in my hand and I was picking off the petals as I waited for Ashton.

I sort of wished he would come.

I didn’t know what I’d do if he didn’t.

I sighed and breathed in the fresh, salty sea air and sighed. I unbuckled my shoes and tossed them aside along with the stem of the flower and I pulled off my gloves and left them with the rest of my belongings and I slowly walked up to the water’s edge. I let my toes squish down into the already wet sand and then felt water rush up my legs, and to the very edge of my dress.

“It was you.” I heard someone whisper behind me.

I knew who it was before I turned around. Every doubt I had in my mind flew away the moment I turned around. Judging by the look on his face I knew that Jesse wasn’t lying. I sucked in a breath and felt a small tear trickle down my cheek. I didn’t wipe it away but Ash took a step forward and then stopped hesitating.

I shook my head and sighed before I ran over to him as fast as possible and wrapped my hands around his neck and crushed my lips against his. He smelt the same as always. His hair was still soft and long enough for me to lose my hands in it and when I moved my hands to his back his muscles felt even better than before.

His hands were beside his hips and slowly he brought them up to my face and he suddenly started kissing me back like always. One of his hands moved from my face to my back and he started pulling me closer to his body like he could get enough of me. His lips moved to my ear.

“I’m so, so sorry Zarah.” He whispered ever so softly.

I shook my head and kissed his cheek which I found was wet with a tear of its own. “I’ve missed you so much Ash, please never do that again.”

He pulled me closer and wrapped his strong arms around me. “Don’t worry Zarah; you’re the only one I ever want to kiss. You’re the only one I love.”

I smiled at that and kissed his lips more. I couldn’t get enough of him. He guided me over to the sand and he sat down and I straddled him and winked at him. He bit his lip and pulled me in for my lips but I turned and he got my cheek. I put a finger in front of his lips and giggled.

Before I unbuttoned the first three buttons of his white shirt and then moved my hands down lower and felt my way up the shirt and watched as he closed his eyes and let out a little strangled noise. Then I removed them and put them back up around his neck and let him kiss my lips this time.

I leant forward some more which made him lean back and soon enough he was lying on the sand and I was lying on top of him kissing him, trying to make up for the lost time.

He intertwined our fingers and kissed each one of mine softly. “So, why’d you tell me to meet you here?”

I shrugged. “I’m supposed to be taking you to your birthday present but I thought I’d give you mine first.”

He grinned and wrapped our arms around me so that I was leaning against his back. “Why’d you forgive me, how’d you know I wasn’t lying?”

I looked up at him and smiled. “You’ll never believe it, Jesse spoke to Cleo and he told me everything.”

“Jesse told you to forgive me?” He asked unbelieving.

I nodded and grinned. “Yep he did, well so did Josh and Cyn but…”
