Lauren's P.O.V

"Look!"

"Lauren?"

"She did it again!"

"Lauren, can you hear me?"

I started to slowly but surely open my eyes as I start to get control back. As my pale, green eyes adjusted to the light, I started make out the mysterious but familiar figures that were standing in front of me. Steven and Emily. I saw the smiles grow on their faces as my eyes fully opened making me also smile.

"Hey" I said weakly.

"Oh thank god!" I was soon engaged with a hug from Emily as she held on for dear life. Eventually, when she pulled away from the hug, I started to sit up properly.

"Woah woah woah! Lauren be careful." Steven added as he rushed over and placed one of his hands on my back. Without hesitation and despite the pain I was still in, I hugged him. Tightly. I feel him hug back after a few seconds.

"Thank you..." I whispered in his ear. After I said those two words I felt his grip on me tighten slightly.

"Why are you thanking me?" He asked confused

"Because you stayed. Had faith. And didn't leave me." I said. I was serious. I felt so blessed to have him since if it was another boy that I've dated, they would have just walked away. But not Steven.

"Actually Lauren..."

"Yeah. He's been here pretty much the whole time. Hardly left your side" Emily suddenly cut Steve off for a reason I was too sure about.

It must have been around 8pm. I was tired. Steven was tired. And Emily? Well she had two cups of coffee so if she falls asleep before me, I'd be surprised.

"...oh and Melissa also said that she wishes you to get better. Alanna's in LA so she couldn't come. She said if she could have come back here she would have but... Anywho! You've got me and Steven here! Oh and Norman visited too, once or twice. " Emily kept babbling on.

"Ok! Ok! Em you've been talking non stop for like... Ten minutes! Take a break!" I said laughing.

"Yeah but there's soooo much to say!" Emily fought back. I just laughed. I glanced over to Steven to see him not really paying attention.

"Hey." I nudged him since he was still sat close to me.

"Hmm? What?" He asked, clearly confused of why I nudged.

"You ok? You seem... Spaced out"

"No, no. I'm fine." He replied but I still didn't believe him. I just flashed him a fake smile and looked back to Emily.

"So can I continue now?" She asked eagerly.

I laughed. "Yeah sure" I said not really bothered. To be honest, I didn't really have a choice. She was gonna talk either way.

Steven's P.O.V
I felt so bad. I left her. Left her to die. She thanked me for no reason. She relied on me and I let her down! How could I? How could I do that too her?!
I couldn't stop thinking about it...
I couldn't stop saying it over and over in my mind.

"Hey Lauren?" I said, planning on telling her for the second time.

"Yeah Ste?" She asked in her beautiful English/New Jersey accent.

Then Emily glared at me. Completely staring into my eyes telling me to keep my mouth shut. I just sat there contemplating whether to tell her or not.

"Steven?" She asked noticing that I wasn't paying attention again.

"Huh?"

"You were gonna tell me something..." She said, waiting. Waiting for me to answer. I couldn't do it. Emily shook her head lightly to tell me "no" again.

"I... I'm just glad you're awake" I took her hand and lightly stroked over her hand with my thumb and gave her a small smile.

"Steve, can I talk to you outside for a minute?" Emily butted in going from her hyperactive self, to being serious.
Lauren looked confused but I nodded and kissed her hand.

"Be back in a minute, babe." I said trying to soothe her but I don't think it worked.

"You need to pull yourself together!" She whisper yelled. She was angry, but didn't want to cause a scene.

"What? I feel horrible about it."

"She has just woken up from being out for five. Whole. Days. If you really need to tell her, you do it in a few weeks when she's better and all this have blown over. Ok? Ok." She tried to finish the "argument" but I wanted to say more.

"Alright. Alright. I won't tell her... I just--" she cut me off.

"You just need to keep quiet. That's it. For her." And with that she walked back in. I stood outside the room for a minute longer. Just thinking...

I felt so...

So GUILTY!

--A/N--

Sorry this took so long. And sorry it's a bit crap. I've been busy and exams are coming up, so if I don't upload it's because of school.
