Steven's P.O.V
The drive home was silent. We hadn't talked much the rest of the night. How can she be "friends" with her? The one who tried to part us? The one that caused so much heart ache? How? She's told me numerous of times that she hates her, so her doing this was just plain crazy. She was driving since she didn't drink, therefore I was sat in the passenger seat doing nothing. I wasn't drunk, but I wasn't sober either. More like tipsy. I still knew what I was doing and what I was saying. Not much difference between being sober, except the odd stumble here and there. I was fine, but pissed.
We walked into Lauren's apartment still in an awkward silence.
"Why?" I said bluntly. I just wanted a proper explanation.
"Huh? Why? What do you mean "why"?" She said just as blunt as I did.
"Why her? Why don't you hang out with Alex or Alanna or Emily?? I don't get why it had to be.. Her." I said with a disgusted tone to my voice.
"Her? Oh, right Molly." She said sarcastically. "Well surprisingly, she's actually sweet, kind and lovely. I don't see what the problem is between it all?! She's a nice girl trying to forget what she did. Just let her." She replied with a sigh.
"Alright. Alright. Fine, whatever" I spoke with a tone that sounded like I couldn't care less.
"Please don't act like this..." She said as she took a few small steps closer.
"She just... She just annoys me. A lot. Like, she called you names, tried to end us, I don't see what kind of friend would do that." I said looking up to her.
"I know, I know. But, second chances so exist. Besides, she isn't going to be my BEST friend, that's Emily's job." She calmly spoke as her hands found their way to my shoulders. A small smile spread across my lips as she smiles back.
"I just don't want it to be another twisted game. You know what she's like." I added.
"I know, but it won't. Not this time." She finished as she kissed me so sweetly as I kissed back with hesitation in it.
But to ruin the perfect moment, Lauren's phone rang. Meaning, she pulled away leaving me wondering why she had to take it."Hey Em. What's up?" Lauren began until, I loud squeal came from the other end of the line.
"Get packing!!" Emily screamed through the phone in excitement for a reason we didn't know.
"Wait, what? Why do you want me to pack??" Lauren asked, confused at how Emily was acting.
"Welllllll, you know how I have many friends?" She said in a sarcastic tone. "One of my closest said that she's in Germany for 2 months!"
"Umm... Okay? I don't see how this links to why I have to pack" Lauren honestly replied.
"She said we could use it! Instead of paying for a bunch of nights in a stupid hotel! So, she said she leaves at midday on Saturday." She finished.
"Alright, but Em... It's Thursday. So you're saying I have two days to wash and pack my clothes?" She exclaimed.
"Yep! Tickets are booked. I did them all at once. Get started!!" And after that, she ended the call.
"What was all that about?" I asked since I only heard half the conversation and a few mumbles.
"Oh uh, we're going on holiday. Apparently. In two days." She said slightly shocked.
"Well then. Maybe we should get packing." I replied with a smile on my face. "Think about it, this is what we need to get away from everything...
...from her."
