Lauren's P.O.V

"Steven careful!" I almost screamed as he was trying to walk holding my hands. "What did I say about fast walking!"

"Not to do it, I'm sorry." He said in a very annoyed and bored tone along with a sigh, making me look at the floor as I kept walking with him. "Sorry... I just don't like this place. We've been in here too long now. I just want to go home."

"We can, but only when you're well enough." I sighed, still with my head down. Well, that is until I felt his fore-finger and thumb be placed under my chin, lifting it up.

"Okay.." he muttered, leaning in to give me a kiss.

Surprisingly, I denied the kiss by moving, "let's focus on your walking yeah?"

He sighed, "yeah. Whatever yeah..."

"She should be able to go home in a couple of days... she's getting so strong." The nurse smiled at me as I attempted to breast feed my daughter. I was very uncomfortable and it's something the nurse picked up on by my facial expressions, like she has seen this before.
"I know it's not a pleasant feeling, but the pain will soon pass, it's just something to get used to."

I nodded, slowly kissing Adeline's head.

"I suggest trying to get her to sleep around 8 at night, and maybe not so many naps in the day. That way she will sleep with ease." She smiled down at me.

"Thanks..." I whispered, focusing on my daughters features. Nothing in this world could make me upset at this moment, my kids are okay, Steven's getting better, it's basically a miracle.

I soon pulled her away in an attempt to burp her, something that I hadn't done before. I was told how to do it, but never actually did it successfully.
I was surprised and proud when I heard a small burp come from the small baby's mouth, making me smile more than I was.

All I wanted was to take her home. I wanted her to be where she belongs, with me, Steven and Nova. Because we're a family.

After a few hours, I made my way back to Steven's room, surprised to hear talking inside.

"You sure?" I heard Steven question, a hint of edginess in his voice.

"I'm positive! Girls have been planning these things ever since they were little. I'm pretty sure Lauren was one of those girls too. So just do it!" I heard another voice say, but her voice was filled with enthusiasm, which made me automatically know that it was Emily. I was confused. Very confused. I felt like I heard something I shouldn't have. But with that in mind, I walked in before they could start another sentence.

"O-oh hey... um... how's Addy?" Emily asked, a smile plaster on her face but for some reason, there wasn't one on Steve's.

"She's getting better... doctor said if she keeps up the progress she can go home this week." I smiled, a wonderful feeling of being able to go home and live happily with my family. "Wait... where's Nova??" I realised, a sudden wave of panic washing over me.

"He's with Norman, he took him to the cafe for a bit. And anyway, that's great about Addy! Doctor said Steven can go home soon too, didn't he?" She looked to Steven, but he was daydreaming. "Steven!" She clapped and shouted in front of his face making him almost jump out of his skin.

"Wha- what?!" He replied in a startled manor, not knowing what Emily said before.

"The doctor! He said you could go home soon."

"Oh.. yeah yeah. He told me last night." He said, words falling from his mouth before he could stop himself, a look that showed he wasn't supposed to say that, creeping onto his face.

"Last night? You didn't tell me?" I asked, a hurt feeling growing in my stomach.

"You- you went home." He answered, guilt soon washing over him like a tsunami.

"You have a phone."

"Oh yeah... I do. But it was dead, and I couldn't find my charger." He made up something to me, that's what it sounded like. Everything but the truth.

"I left last night at nine. Your phone was on charge when I left." I crossed my arms, the sadness soon turning into anger.

"Um..." He tried to think of something, anything to get him out of the situation. I could see the cogs working in his brain to try and think.

"I came by here this morning too. So you would've known then. Why didn't you tell me?"

"I just... well... I don't know! I didn't think about it." he sighed, rubbing his face with both his hands.

"No secrets. Remember that promise? Hmph. Guess not." I opened the door, taking a step out before being interrupted.

"Where are you going?" I heard Steven mumble, just loud enough for me to hear.

"I'm going to find the only guy... well, boy that doesn't lie or keep secrets. And thats ironic because he can't even talk!" I stormed out, not caring for more excuses.

Around two hours went by, I didn't go back to his room. But I found Nova and Norman. I asked him if he was okay and stayed with him for a bit before going to see someone who made me smile.

And there I sat, in the red cushioned chair, holding Addy in my hands. But she soon started to fuss, I hummed a small tune and noticed it wasn't working, making me panic. I knew she wasn't hungry, she's been sleeping all day. I checked her diaper and to my surprise there was nothing there either.

"Um... addy this would be a great time for you to start talking and be the first baby to say actual words..." I stood up, slowly bouncing her in my arms but when I went under the light, I saw small freckles on her cheeks, something I had when I was little. But this automatically made me think of a song, but starting it was a trouble as I became more nervous as a scream emitted from her mouth.

"Uh, okay okay. Um... Freckles, and constellations... A-all those cute conversations..." I started, hearing her cries quieten but not stop. "The moon is bright, giving us light... I really wanna kiss you and I think I might, Filling up our imaginations..." i continued to sing, the song soon easing her screams and cries, but when I pause she starts up again.

Before it gets too much I continue the song.
"Oh um... Starry eyes and galaxy minds. We'll be dancing on the clouds tonight... I'll be yours to keep just take a leap, Cause this spaceship has a passenger seat. W-" I continued, and was about to sing more before I hear the door open behind me, making me stop.

I jumped when I felt a pair of warm arms wrap around my waist, "hey... it's only me." He whispered into my ear, kissing my shoulder. "Sorry for not telling you... I just, I want to surprise you with something, like good, so you'll be happier, so I guess I freaked." He sighed.

"Don't be. I'm just... tired." I chuckled, looking down at Addy.

"Why? Did Nova keep you up?"

"No, he's perfect. I just couldn't sleep. But this one loves a good cry..." I chuckle once more, looking down to the small bundle in my arms.

"M-may I?" He asks, nerves filling his eyes as he's never held her before. I nod and slowly pass her over. "Hey... I'm your daddy..." he whispers, making me smile. He slowly wraps one arm around me as he olds Adeline with the other.

"I'm so glad she's okay."
