Steven's P.O.V
"Do you have everything? Toothbrush? Passport? Phone?? You always forget that! Is it charged?" Lauren asked, over and over, eagerly. As she becomes easily stressed, this isn't a good situation for her, especially when she's pregnant. It honestly makes it worse."Hey Laur.. calm down. Okay? Yes I have my toothbrush, my phone is in my pocket and fully charged, and my passport is.." I spoke confidently until I felt my pockets to realise that I hadn't got my passport. "Oh... shit."
I rushed round trying to find my damned passport, the stress high, due to our flight being in less than 2 hours and it takes an hour to get there and get through security.
"Uh Steven.." Lauren spoke, with an innocent tone to her voice.
"No Lauren this isn't okay! I can't find it!" I shouted, completely freaking out about my current situation.
"Stevieee" she spoke again, dragging out the "ee" sound she added onto the end of my name, but I didn't turn around again, making her sigh.
"Lauren help! We're not gonna get there in time." By now, I couldn't hear myself think. The shouting was too much for me to hand, even though it's me shouting. "Why does this always happen?! Can't anything go smoothly? Why does it always have to be so fu--"
"STEVEN!" Lauren shouted at the top of her lungs, making me stop in my tracks, cutting me off. As I turned around, she had my passport in between her fingers, sweetly grinning at me. "This what you looking for?"
I immediately sighed, relief flowing over me but I was still on edge. "Alright, alright. Let's go. You got everything?" I said, hoping that she did.
"Yes. I'm not stupid. I packed last night." She said, rolling her eyes. To me, she was on and off with me. It was so bipolar, it was making my head spin slightly. One minute, she's nice and sweet but then she's biting my head off and being completely rude. I mean I love her, and a lot at that... but this was crazy. Then, add on the lies I have lined up in my head that I have to keep to myself. I was slowly but surely loosing my mind.
"Lauren." I said, with a tone of sternness in my voice.
"Yes?" She said with a sweet tone, knowing that it would get on my nerves, due to me being serious.
"Why are you acting like this? I know I lied, and I'm sorry. You know I'm sorry. So why are you being such a... such--" I sighed.
"Such a bitch? Such a cow? Such a waste of space that shouldn't BEEN exists anymore? C'mon Glenn! Use your words. I mean, I've heard it all." She yelled slightly, not breaking eye contact.
"Wha- No! No no no! You're. It a cow or a bitch! Or anything in between. I just want to know why you're being so off with me. I get it, lying is bad. But you don't have to treat me like this." I spoke, honestly.
"I don't?" she replied with a sarcastic tone.
"No. You don't." I said once more.
"Fine." She spat, grabbing her bags and starting to walk down the stairs.
Before she could even get half way down though, I took the heavy bags from her, not wanting her to hurt herself. Or the baby. She sighed and walked down the rest of the stairs, with loud, angry thuds.
Lauren's P.O.V
I slowly walked through the unusually, quiet airport silently. We were sat in a small café since Steven got the time wrong. We were here a full hour early. So here we were. Sat in a small café, not far from the terminal gate, no talking from me. Steven tried asking me questions, talking to me, saying anything for me to talk. I just stared down at the hot coffee in my cold hands. As they started to shake for a reason I'm not sure of, I felt Steve's strong, warm hands be placed on mine. I looked at him in the eyes but with no tone, as he gave me a reassuring smile. It soon came to the part where we boarded the plane and I freak out. But for some reason, I wasn't. I just looked out the window, waiting for everyone to sit down and the plane to start. Once again, I felt Steven's hand be placed on mine, which was placed on my lap. He held my hand tight, like we were on a massive rollercoaster that went high in the air. I slowly glanced at him and saw him looking at our hands, as he stroked the back of it with his thumb. After around ten minutes, when we were in the air, I looked at him just staring into space, which made me want to talk about something important that we haven't before. Like, what we're gonna do when we get back. So instead of being bitchy, I decided to just talk to him.
"Steve?" I whispered, which he turned his head to face me straight away, also sitting up.
"Yeah? Yeah? What's up?" He asked eagerly, a bit of joy obvious in his voice that I was talking.
"What are we doing when we get back?" I simply asked a question to answer his.
"Um... what do you mean?" He spoke, confused by yet another question.
"Well... you still have an apartment. And so do I. But.. we're having a baby. So..." I looked between his eye back and forth, looking for a kind of clue to what he was thinking.
"Oh.. Uh.. well. That's a.. a big question. We could move in together? I mean, I'm always at yours anyway so--" He attempted a solution but I didn't think moving into my apartment would work.
"Steve. I'm thinking we move somewhere else. Somewhere for the child to grow up in. An actual home. A house." I said, with all seriousness in my voice.
"Oh okay. Well... When we get back, we can look around for houses for sale on the internet and around the neighbourhood we're in. Or even one more close to Emily." He smiled.
"Okay..." I nodded and smiled also, leaning over and kissing his cheek.
"Oh and Laur, when we get home you need to go for a check up." He said with care clear in his voice as he placed a lingering kiss to my forehead.
I can't wait for a place we can call home.
