Lauren's P.O.V
After yesterday, Steven said that I shouldn't go back to work just yet, and that we needed to know if the baby was okay first. In my opinion, if they thought something was majorly wrong, they would have sent me to hospital to get checked out fully. But they didn't. They took tests and said I could go home, so that's all I need to know, they're just making sure and taking precautions so something bad, or even dangerous doesn't happen.Steven was in a mood with me, due to me being so stubborn and demanded I went to set. Everything that we did was in silence. The only noise that could be heard was the small pitter patter of raindrops on the car windscreen and the speeding cars rushing beside us. It's agonising not to be talking to him, but it's my job. I can't just not go to work because there 'might' be something wrong. Plus, I'll be off work in a couple of months for maternity leave anyway.
Even when we were on set, he was still ignoring me, though I was stood beside him at all times. It soon aggravated me so much that I just walked off, which made Norman and Andy suspicious as to why I just walked away from the conversation. I heard him sigh but when I looked back, surprisingly, his face didn't have a frustrated or angry look, it was if he felt lost. He had a look of regret on his face as he put his head into the palms of his hands before he also stormed away from Andy and Norman, who both still looked utterly confused.
After a few hours of emotional filming, we were all crying and Steve was talking to Greg about something. Soon he came over and spoke to me for the first time in hours.
"Come on, grab your stuff we're going." He said with an attempt to show no tone, but you could still hear the care and sadness in his voice. I quickly said goodbye to the cast before we started to make our way out. As we were doing so, I saw Greg stroll by which made me stop.
"I'll meet you at the car." I said, briefly as I heard him sigh and walk away. I anxiously rushed up to Greg, hoping to ask him an important question.
"Hey Greg! Can I... Ask you something?" I spoke as casually as my voice would let me.
"Sure go ahead." He replied with a smile after turning around to look at me.
"Um... The other week, did you call Steve to say he had to come to set?" I asked curiously, wanting a straight answer.
"No? Steve called me one early morning to say he wanted o go through the script again, said he "didn't understand it" or something like that. But when we were going through it he understood it fine. Why?" He replied but curios as to why I needed to know this, since I should already know.
"Oh... No reason. See you tomorrow." I said, wearing a weak smile as I left and walked to the car.
~
"You okay?" Steven asked as he kept glancing at me, still focusing on the road. I didn't move, I just stared out onto the open road, watching cars drive by cautiously due to the rain now being heavier than earlier."Lauren?" He spoke again, but like last time I said nothing. We soon pulled up to the apartment building but when I tried to open the door it was locked, making me look at Steve.
"Open the door." I said, no tone evident in my speech.
"Tell me what's wrong. If it's about this morning and today I'm sorry, I just didn't want you to get hurt or get worse. I wasn't angry at you, I was just worried and-" he spoke, trying to reason with me.
"It's not about that!" I shouted in an impolite manor. He had a look of shock with a confused mix, not knowing why I was mad. "Just open the damn door, Steve." I said, with an obvious tone of annoyance.
"Tell me what I've done wrong then I will." He replied, also a tone of annoyance starting to appear in his usually sweet voice.
I sighed, "it's nothing..." I stated, now with a calmer tone. I saw him open his mouth to protest before I started talking again. "I'm just tired... and moody... and worried... you know, about the baby. I've just got a short fuse today and I could really do without this... okay? So are you gonna let me out, or not? Because its fucking freezing in this car." I chuckled slightly at the end, even though it was forced.
"Okay..." he unlocked the car, making me immediately open it and go inside, ignoring the letter that laid in the letter box just outside.
I threw myself down onto the couch, sighing as I did so. "Lauren? Babe there's a letter for you."
"Just leave it. I'll read it later." I mumbled, closing my eyes due to tiredness.
"No Laur... it's from the doctors." He commented seriously, making me look at him with a pang of worry in my eyes.
He came and sat next to me, looking at the letter before handing it to me. "Here. You open it..." he almost whispered, looking at me.
"No... you can. I don't want to..." I honestly muttered, with nerves running through me making my hands shake like a chihuahua in the snow.
"Alright..." He slowly opened the letter and scanned over it and sighed.
