I woke up at 5 with only about 3 hours of sleep. I just couldn't settle down enough to stay asleep. I got out of bed and put on my world cup champions shirt. I put on my jean shorts and my black tennis shoes. I grabbed my backpack and my team jacket before leaving. Jacob drove us and the security let us in backstage. The make up artist did my hair and makeup and then I had 10 minutes before I went on. The host Robin Roberts came back and talked to me. When the time came we went on together.
Robin: Good Morning America! Today I am here with U-20 World Cup Champion Savannah Solo
Me: Good Morning
Robin: So Savannah lets start with your life outside of soccer, you are 16 correct?
Me: yes I am
Robin: First off wow, second that means you are still in high school tell us about that.
Me: Well I am going to be a junior at West Point High School
Robin: I'm guessing you play sports for them too. How do you do everything you do and school?
Me: it's definitely hard. I am captain for both our soccer team and cheer team. Even with that I am a 4.0 honors student
Robin: how do you do it?
Me: it's a lot of scheduling and when I'm gone my boyfriend sends me notes I miss or turns in work for me. I remember at one point I had a chemistry worksheet halfway done sitting in my locker at Seattle Reign game. I just have to make sure I stay on top of everything.
Robin: That's incredible, now for the world cup you were the winner of the Golden Ball and then Golden Boot. Let's bring these out, there they are. Tell us about the emotions you felt when getting these
Me: *laughs* oh the emotions, there were so many but I think the biggest one was accomplishment. Really until high school I didn't have any body that believed in me being a for the national team and now I have proved all of those people wrong.
Robin: were you surprised when they called your name for the 2nd time?
Me: Yes and no. All of my teammates were like you know you have both in the bag and I'm like no that's so rare to win both but I did.
Robin: so how long were you in Brazil?
Me: we got there about a week before the first game to get acclimated so almost a complete month.
Robin: that's a long time away from home
Me: it's part of the job. Sometimes its hard but you're getting to do what you love so it pays off.
Robin: so we have some tweets from your teammates and girls from the older national team would you mind explaining some of them?
Me: of course
Robin: our first one is from your teammate Cady Roberts. When you're small enough to wear a kids harness #5yearold #inanadultbody We also have the picture up there. So how did this happen?
Me: Oh lord. Okay so we all agreed to go zip lining and we got there late of course. Now this place was small and only had a certain number of adult harnesses. They ran out but fortunately or unfortunately depending on how you look at it the kids harness fit me. My teammates made fun of me the whole time. It just goes with being the youngest on the team I guess.
Robin: instead of reading all of these next ones we are just going to put them up here. They all call you Baby Horse what is the meaning behind that?
Me: the name is from Hope, they say its because of my age and then the way I run.
Robin: and the resemblance between you and Alex Morgan is remarkable. I am assuming that where the name twin came from?
Me: yes, Alex and I look identical from the back and the only difference is a couple of facial features. We are actually the same size in everything except my legs are about 2 inches longer but were the same height its weird.
Robin: that is weird. Our last tweet was from your teammate goal keeper Casey Murphy. Baby Horse is shirtless more than a guy I swear we also have the picture. So is this true?
Me: Yes actually, I guess it's just a habit. I don't know shirts just kind of bother me. Everyone jokes that I just want to show my abs off.
Robin: there have been many comments on your abs from fans and some celebrities from your many Nike photo shoots and open practices. How do you keep your abs?
Me: well from all the things plus a little extra work on my own. I also try to eat as healthy as I can but I am in no way always eating right, I mean I'm 16 so I eat my fair amount of junk food. I just try to balance it out as best I can.
Robin: and there you have it, how Savannah Solo gets and keeps her abs. Now one more thing before our time ends. It is now August when do you fly home for school and when is your first day back?
Me: I actually fly home today and then tomorrow I help with Freshman orientation. My first official day is the Monday the 17th
Robin: wow, well it was so great to have you this morning. Safe travels home.
The show cut off and I said goodbye to Robin and then got my backpack and found Jacob.
Jacob: so it's 8:30. The second signing in the park is at 11 so what di you want to do until then?
Me: lets got to the hotel first and then I'll decide.
Jacob: okay
Jacob drove us to the hotel and I went to my room. I took out my laptop and checked my bank accounts.

I shut down my laptop and repacked it. I grabbed my wallet and phone and went to Jacob's door and knocked.
Jacob: you decided?
Me: yes I want to go shopping
Jacob: oh fun, oh and I got a call from Hope saying your weren't allowed to get more shoes.
Me: I know but I can get clothes so let go
Jacob: okay where to first?
We went to American Eagle first and I got a red flannel and medium wash jeans. We then went to Victoria's Secret and I got 2 pairs of leggings and perfume. The last store I went was Nike. I got a blue back pack, grey and black hoodies, grey and blue tanks, and purple and black leggings. Jacob and I put all 7 bags in the car and headed to the park.
Jacob: if you don't mind me asking how much did you just spend?
Me: is Hope asking?
Jacob: yes she is
Me: she knows me too well but it was almost 900. But it was for school
Jacob: I will let her know thank you and we are here.
We got out and went through Central Park. I got on stage and said hey to the fans and then started signing. 2 hours later I took a break and then started signing again. 3 hours late I was completely finished. It was now 6 and my flight was at 8:30. I said goodbye to the fans and got in the car. Back at the hotel I packed my now overstuffed suitcases and backpacks. Jacob brought them down and to the car while I checked us out. Jacob drove me to the airport and I said goodbye before going through security.
I boarded my plane and told Brad I was on my way. The plane ride was 2 hours and 20 minutes and I landed in Shreveport at 11. I got my bags and went to find Brad. He found me first and called my name. I saw him and ran to him.
Me: Brad!
Brad: hey baby girl
Me: I missed you
Brad: I missed you too, lets go home I got your bags.
Brad and I walked to his truck and he drove us home. It was almost 1 so Brad just stayed with me. I showered and then we climbed into bed and fell asleep.
