After we left Florida it felt like our rush to marry sped up. Martin and I had decided to go to the court house to marry and then plan our big wedding later. So we did exactly that.
On November 3,2003 I became Mrs. Martin. It was one of the happiest days of my life. As the thanksgiving and Christmas holidays approached Martin wanted to take me to meet his family. Which they already knew we were married and planning the big wedding for the 10th of January of 2004.
Martin was able to take leave for Christmas so we drove the 18 hours to his home town in New York. His parents Christy and Carl were very loving people. Accepted me into the family and it made me happy. I did meet more of Martin's family that Christmas vacation. It was a memorable one because it had been years since I had seen snow.
We returned back to Georgia in just enough time to plan our big wedding which was a huge task since it was weeks away.
Everyone was geared up and ready to go after the new years with just a few minor details of the wedding left to do. I was nervous and excited to put on my gown and walk down the isle to see Martin's face as I walk towards him.
The family had come from New York and Florida and some other local places the day of our wedding. As I walked down the isle I saw his face and it light up with shimmering tears and a gorgeous smile. We stood in front of our friends and family and said our vows. We did it we were married!
The reception was a hit and later that night our staycation honeymoon was perfect. We planned a honeymoon for when we could afford one that would later be perfect.
