“Hey, is that her?”
“where?”
“There, right outside that Gas Station.”
A smile crawled up their faces.
“Yep, that’s her. This was easier than I thought, Fang.”
“It’s pay back tine Jia Hua.” Fang said and crept deeply into the dark night with one mission on mind.
To get Ella.
---
Chun arrived at the Chen’s late at night finally getting up the courage to tell the Chens that Ella’s been missing for a few long hours now.
“I’ll find her.” Chun reassured them as he was exiting.
“Chun, you’ve caused her enough pain. Just leave her alone. She’ll only rebel more if she knows that you’re looking for her too.”
“Uncle--I know what I did was wrong for her but--she loves me. I’m the only hope that she has for staying alive out there.”
“Are you sure? Maybe she didn’t go very far. Maybe she needs time to think of things. She needs time to accept the fact that Ella’s our daughter.”
Chun’s mouth fell open.
He didn’t know what to say.
“It all started a long time ago…” and so, Mong told Chun the story who finally understood why Ella was always so secretive about her family.
“Where is Uncle Cheng now?” Chun asked him.
“He should be at his house, is he not?”
“No, the family’s gone.”
“Chun even if you find Andrew, he can’t do a thing about this.”
“But he must have some say in this. He’s the one that raised your daughter all of these years!!”
“You have no right to talk to me like that Wu Chun!”
“At least she knew who I was! And I played a part in her life, unlike-”
“Then I’ll make sure that you won’t be part of her life after all of this!” Mong shouted with determination.
Chun looked at him regretting every word he said. “Even if she doesn’t accept us as her parents, we have more rights over her than you will, Chun.”
“Master Chen, you have a urgent phone call.” a maid said interrupting the silence.
Mong rolled his eyes and forcefully grabbed the phone from her hands and walked away to have his conversation in private.
“hello?” he answered
“It’s been a long time since we talked Mong. How are you?”
“Who is this?” Mong asked confused.
“Of course you don’t remember me.” there was a slight chuckle.
A chuckle that Mong recognized after 26 years.
“Yan?”
---
“Ella!” Jiro cried as he saw her being dragged into the darken mansion.
He was tied up, obviously beaten. Blood dripped from his mouth and head.
“Jiro?” Ella was confused.
Jiro was a bad guy?
“Let go of her Fang!” Jiro screamed.
“Don’t tell me you love this one too. I heard you got her friend pregnant--”
