Everyone hovered around Ella like a new born baby.
Chun sat next to her, not leaving his spot anytime soon.
Everyone was confused.
Especially Li Chen.
---
“Li, you almost gave me a scare there.” the doctor joked.
She forced a smile, holding her husband’s hand.
“would you mind if we had a moment alone?” the doctor asked Mong, and he exited the room respectfully.
“I noticed that you have a record of having diabetes.”
“yes, I have it for a while now. What’s wrong?”
“Nothing’s wrong with your blood, it’s just--”
“Just what?” Li asked getting impatient.
“I also found records that you gave birth here about 26 years ago.”
Li held her breath. “Yes, I did.”
“I understand that you were with the Wu family, when Mrs. Wu got wheeled in.”
“yes I was, doctor. What are you getting at?”
The doctor took a big breath and sighed.
“Mrs. Chen, all of our record says that you are the biological mother of Miss Jia Hua. You and your husband are the only ones that can save her--”
Li broke out into tears when she heard the news.
When she first saw Ella, she felt as if she was staring into her own reflection.
When she saw Ella so unconformable in the ‘short’ dress, she knew something was wrong.
She figured out that she would be about the same age that her daughter would have been if she was still living.
But her hopes in finding her daughter died 20 years ago.
Mong stood outside, speechless as he over heard them talk about Ella.
He waited until the doctor came out of the room and he entered crying.
“Honey, what’s wrong?” Li asked. She didn’t want to break the news yet.
“I heard.” he said.
“heard what?”
“Li, don’t lie to me! I HEARD! ELLA’S OUR CHILD!” he screamed.
“she’s your WHAT?!” A voice shouted.
---
“Mong, tell me this isn’t true.” Andrew demanded.
“You should be telling us how you got her!” Mong demanded back.
“You know fairly well how! Sheng couldn’t get pregnant, and she wanted to adopt. So we did. She just happened to pick out ‘your daughter’.”
“Is that why you didn’t want to save her? Because she wasn’t your blood.”
“You don’t think I wanted to save her? How was I suppose to help when all I can do I kill her with my blood. I raised her, maybe not the best, but she sees me as a father. Something you’ll never be to her.”
“We are going to do the blood transfer, and after that Ella’s going to know everything. And you can say good bye to the Ella you once knew.”
---
Tank rushed into Ella’s room as quick as he heard about her condition.
“What the hell happened?” he screamed.
Chun sighed. “I don’t know, I was talking with her father, then-”
Before he could finish, Tank swung his fist into Chun’s face.
“You bastard! How can you do this to her over and over again? You don’t realizes that you’re hurting her do you?”
Chun tried to stand up from his fall and looked at Tank in his eyes.
“You’re the only one that I’ve seen her look at any man that way. You should be grateful. I really pity Ella for falling for you. She has such bad taste in men!” he said and punched him again.
This time Chun stayed on the floor.
Tank was about to make a move to hit him again, but a voice caught his attention.
“Tank! Stop!” it was Jade.
She pulled him aside.
“This isn’t going to make Ella wake up any faster. You’re only going to hurt your fist.” she told him and dragged him out side of the room, knowing that he will only cause trouble for them.
Chun got back to his sit and held Ella’s cold hands.
He almost cried when he felt her cold hands tightened the grip.
“ELLA?!”
