Warning: Bad Language

“Ella, we’re going to need to reschedule our date from the charity event.” Chun told her before he left.

“Why bother? I mean you’re marrying my sister. What would the society think of my family and yours?” Ella replied.

“Ella, it’s not what you think. She and I-”

“Chun, just drop it ok?” Ella asked irritated.

“Why is it that every time when I try to talk to you, you push me away Ella.” Chun asked her.

“I don’t know.” She honestly said. “I don’t like you, you-”

“You don’t mean that, Ella. I knew you liked me even when we were young.” Ella rolled her eyes.

He tilted her chin to face him. “And if I didn’t know any better, I’d say I liked you too.” Ella’s eyes widen. And before she knew it, his lips were on hers.

She tried to push him off, without really wanting to.

“Honey, they make such a cute couple!” Mary squealed to her husband who where spying on them.

“Ella!” A high pitched voice was heard, while Ella pushed Chun off her.

“What do you think you’re doing?” Charlene yelled.

And before she could answer, she felt a hand slap her across her face.

Chun just stood there dumbfounded.

Ella didn’t look at either one of them.

“How dare you kiss my fiancé, in front of me!” Charlene yelled. “Are you not ashamed of yourself? You’re barely qualified to speak to Chun!”

Ella stared at the ground as she rubbed her cheek.

“Ella!” Mary called out as she ran towards her. “Are you ok?”

“Yea, I’m fine, Auntie.” Ella pushed Mary’s arms away from her. She could sense the anger and jealousy from Charlene. “I have to go.”

She pushed her way out of Mary’s arms, and yet she followed.

Chun could feel Charlene’s eyes burn into him.

“Why were you even with her?” she asked.

“Come on Charlene, I was just chatting with her.”

“That’s not what I saw. You approached her. You kissed her, god damn it!” she screamed.

“You and I were a mistake, Char!” he yelled back at her. “I thought you understood that when I bought Ella from the auction, it was over. And to be honest, I don’t think it ever really began.”

Charlene stared at him in awe.

But soon a smiled crawled up her face.

“You used her? She was your escape route?” Charlene laughed. “If anyone’s’ willing to fall for that, it sure as hell would be Ella. What do you see in her, Chun?”

He didn’t answer.

He could care less about Ella.

“You don’t see anything in her do you, Chun? No one does.” Charlene replied. “It would be a cold day in hell before anyone falls for Ella.”

Chun watched her enter the house.

He drove himself home packing his clothing for his wedding.
