IVAN
A short while later, after running around with Boss, we decided to climb up a tree.
"Why am I doing this?" Boss mumbled when he settled on a branch.
He was laughing softly as he stared at the wide sea. I couldn't help but smile as I looked at him.
The sunlight dances as it strikes on his handsome face. The wind blew kind that I was able to witness his beautiful gentle expression with sadness in his eyes.
I wondered what he was thinking for him to make such a gloomy face.
"Okay ka lang, Boss?" I asked as I inclined my head to see his face.
He bobbed his head as his gaze landed on me. "It's been a while for me since the last time I climbed up on a tree just to appreciate a view," he confessed as he flashed a rare genuine smile of his.
His eyes as he stared at me was like dying to tell something as it softly stared at me.
I giggled, giving him a thumbs up. "Edi gawin natin araw-araw," I suggested happily as I grinned.
He snorted shortly. "I can't afford to do that," he replied.
I sighed as I slowly shook my gorgeous head. "Magkano ba?" I asked, frowning, and waiting for his answer. "Kulang ang pera mo?" I asked once more.
Puffing a harsh breath, he rolled his eyes. "Shut it. Panira talaga ang kabobohan mo," he barked angrily, shaking the branch where I sat.
I clicked my tongue. "Tinatanong ka lang naman eh!" I shouted as I held tight on the main body of the tree.
"Ihulog kita diyan, baka sahaling tumalino ka pagnabagok 'yang ulo mo," he threatened and keep on shaking the branch.
I squeezed my eyes as I hugged the main body of the tree harder. "Boss, nemen eh!" I squealed.
My eyes widened when I recalled a dream. "Boss, alam mo ba Sa panaginip ko. Kasama kita umakyat sa puno kaso maliit ka pa nun!" I told him, giggling as I recalled my dream.
"Ang cute mo, tyaka ang liit mo," I continued.
When my eyes took a glimpse of his shocked reaction. I tilted my head in confusion, scratching my head.
"You remembered?" he asked as he loomed his head closer.
I nodded my head. "Yup, naalala ko talaga ang panaginip na 'yun," I responded.
He laughed softly as he leaned his head on the main body of the tree. "You see, I also had that dream. That girl was cute and smart, but she suddenly grew stupid," he started.
I clapped my hands as my eyes beamed in happiness. "Boss, magkwento ka naman ng mga panaginip mo!" I said.
"Why?" he asked as he glanced at me.
I pouted my lips. "Hindi ba pwede?" I asked, crossing my arms on my chest.
"Then, will you listen to me until I ran out of words?" he said, looking away from me.
I pressed a finger on my lips as I think. "Saan tatakbo papalabas ang mga salita mo, Boss?" I queried.
He let out a deep sigh. "Will you listen or shut your mouth?" he hissed.
I gestured zipping my mouth and extending my hand with an okay sign.
"I once dream that I was breathing peacefully as a normal kid with a normal life. A complete family with a cool brother and father, also a beautiful mother," he began as I listened silently. "I thought it was a beautiful dream, but that dream turned into a nightmare," he continued.
He paused slightly and cleared his throat. "Suddenly, my father had an affair with our neighbor. He ended everything with my mother, taking me and my brother away from her," he added calmly.
"That's a sad dream, not a nightmare though," I blurted out suddenly.
His eyes darted on me, glaring fiercely. "Well, maybe. Then, I suddenly had a younger step-sister. She's cute and bubbly," he continued, letting me aside. "But we lost her—rather my real mother stole her."
"Wow, parang teleserye," I commented but he didn't mind me.
"She called for us to save her but step-mother said that it's her fault for being stupid," he said that it made my heart feet hurt suddenly.
I blinked my eyes when tears were forming in my eyes. "Kawawa naman," I murmured.
He laughed softly when he noticed that I was crying. "Tutuloy ko pa?" he asked.
I nodded immediately to his question.
"I swore to her that I will find her and bring her back with us," he added.
"Since then, the dream was a total nightmare. Bloods, corpses, torture, killing, and every sort of crime, it played over and over in my head," he continued.
He snapped his finger. "Fortunately, I found her—accidentally. She became stupid and forgot everything about us. Well, she was young at that time. I can't blame her," he explained.
I frowned when it doesn't sound like a dream. "Due to her stupidity. I was able to bring her back," he beamed, glancing at me.
I clapped my hands. "Parang fairytale. May happy ending!" I celebrated.
He cackled. "No, her biological mother wants to dispose of her because she's beyond useless and stupid for her," he clarified in addition.
I gasped. "Bakit ang evil ng mother na 'yan!" I complained.
He chuckled. "True," He agreed. "Let's go?" he asked suddenly that confused me. "It's getting dark," he mentioned.
I pursed out my lower lip, bobbing my head. "Bitin, ano ba 'yan," I grumbled, following him down the tree.
"Hangang doon lang kasi," Boss explained as he waited for me.
I clicked my tongue when I finally got down. "Che, parang teleserye 'yung panaginip mo. Kakapanood mo 'yan ng mga drama sa telebisyon," I quipped as I stomped my feet.
He suddenly grabbed my neck and strangled me slightly. "Shut it, Moron."
I giggled and let him wrapped his arms around my neck. I shook my head, snapping out from getting flustered by his action.
