Valentine's POV

I was awoken to the sound of an annoyingly loud alarm. I begrudgingly opened my eyes and looked at it. Eight am.

Why in the living world was I awake at 8 o' clock in summer holidays?

I turned the alarm clock off. I once again closed my eyes and curled up, ready to go back to sleep.

Just give me five more minutes.

But my plan was interrupted by the loud repetitive knocks on my door. I looked at my door with a scowl on my face and decided to ignore whoever was knocking.

"I know you are awake. Open the damn door." An all too familiar voice said from the other side of the door. I let out a loud groan. "Go away, Zander."

"Nope. We have plans Val! We didn't come here for nothing. Now, you open the door." I sighed and slowly got up from the comfy bed. I didn't even bother fixing my appearance before opening the door. Who cares? It's morning. And it's 8 am.

I opened the door with a scowl on my face. "You better have a good reason as to why you made me get up from my bed."

Zander looked at me with amusement. "Oh, trust me. It is. We are going to the beach. So, get ready, and don't take a lot of time. By the way, you are looking incredibly great."

After that Zander surprised me by giving me a peck on my cheek and walked away, leaving me bewildered.

I looked down at what I was wearing and my eyes widened. I hadn't realised that I was wearing one of Zander's large t-shirts and a pair of shorts. My cheek flushed and I quickly closed the door.

I shook my head at my forgetfulness and let out a sigh.

"Come on, hurry up!" Andrew whined as Amanda and I were getting ready.

We were nearly finished and for the past half an hour, Andrew had been whining like a kid who was denied to buy his favourite chocolate.

"Why are boys so impatient?" I heard Amanda mutter under her breath. I let out a laugh and silently agreed with her.

"Alright! We're done!" I said as we had finished getting ready. We grabbed our phones and headed out, after one last look at the mirror.

"Finally!" Andrew said. I shook my head at him and we all walked out of the house.

"I'll get the car. Wait here." After that Andrew went to the garage to bring the car out here.

"Zander?" An unfamiliar voice called out. We all turned towards the owner of the voice and saw a girl, who looked like she was probably my age, had blonde hair and her eyes were only set at Zander. I felt a pang of jealousy hit me. I didn't like the way she was looking at him.

He wasn't even mine then why was I feeling like this?

I shrugged off those thoughts and focused on the situation at hand.

"Lily?" I heard Zander say. Disbelief clear in his voice. My eyes flashed towards him and noticed many emotions running through his face. Hurt, confusion, sadness, anger.
