Bio: I'm a twenty-year- old girl who loves to read and write fiction. Paranormal, Fantasy, Adventure, and Sci-Fi are my favorite genres to read.
Can you explain what your book is all about?
Mist Bound is about my MC, Freya, getting her soul shattered and scattered throughout the Ethereal Realms. Due to her unknown heritage, all creatures of all kinds and species want to get a hold of her for their own devious plans. Her body is in a coma in the Material World as her shattered soul searches for its missing pieces. Her friends in the real world also go on an adventure to help bring their friend back. Danger, death, action, betrayal, all wrapped into complex emotions that may drive Freya over the edge of insanity.
Who is your target audience – and why?
My story can fit all ages and types, whether new, young, or old. I want everyone to be able to get lost in a great book from reality like I usually feel when I read an amazing story. I want them to enjoy it but also to maybe learn something new from it.
What is 'paranormal' about your story?
Creatures mostly and sometimes the setting. My creatures range from the old, mythical monsters into the new, modern ones. There are goblins, vampire dogs, adars (similar to griffins), Aigamuxas, evil spirits, pixies, fairies, kings and queens, and much more. The Ethereal Realms are paranormal by themselves. Set in dimensions never heard of before (mostly all of them).
Does it contain other genre elements, if so which ones – and why?
It does contain elements of action and adventure, maybe even a little romance. No story can have a true one genre throughout; if it doesn't mix, no one would probably read it or it won't be called fiction anymore.
Tell us about your writing process – how do you get from story idea to a Wattpad published story?
I don't really have a writing process. I'm known as a pantser (someone who writes by the seat of their pants) and I get my ideas and inspiration from everywhere: books, movies, songs, music, poems, book covers, real-life events, and so forth.
Did you encounter any challenges when writing, if so – how did you overcome them?
For me, writer's block is one big problem when writing, made even worse since I don't plan my stories. When that happens, I take a break from my writing and just read and listen to inspirational music. I find that always helps in bringing back my creativity and allowing my imaginary friends to talk to me again.
You often hear that writing well is the baseline for success. What does that mean for you?
To be honest, I have no clue. "Writing well" is not something easily defined. It depends on the writer. For me, if the SPG (Spelling, Punctuation, and Grammar) is good, the plot original and creative, the story engaging, then the writer has written well in my eyes.
One final question, this being the Paranormal genre: Have you ever had a paranormal experience?
Not me personally, but someone close to me had, yes. They got possessed by Jinn, went into madness, and killed themselves.
