16. Deadly Reunion

A.J's POV

Wow. My head hurts. Elvin is a traitor. Half of the team is a traitor. Brian may be dead. Alicia and the good half are gone. What has happened? Of course, it is because I got kidnapped. The team couldn't survive with my amazing powers and personality. I remember reading a book. In this book, a boy was captured and had his brain taken over by a desire to kill his own friends. I think that book was called Catching Fire. I wonder if that happened to Elvin and the others.

Brian's POV

Sheesh. That old man can't get any ruder. Making me call him lord. Making me disguise as Elvin to keep A.J in the dark. Disguising as A.J to keep Elvin in the dark. Back and forth with the demands. I can't wait until the I can capture the rest of the heroes of legend, absorb all their powers, assassinate the Magron King, and combine the two dimension.

Magrons. Funny thing is, the others think Magrons are like the minotaur in Greek mythology, but Magrons are regular non-powered people in the power dimension. Kind of like those muggles in the books Harry Potter in the Harry Potter series. Those books were amazing. Reminds me of the terrible days and the secret of the Magron rebellion.

Suddenly, I heard someone knock on my door. I open it. I jump halfway cross my room onto my bed in surprise.

"Hello Brian." said a girl in a hoodie with the hood pulled over her face. I haven't seen that face in years. Isabelle. We met in a summer camp before I discovered my powers. She and I, we were best friends. Last I checked, she was about two inches taller than me. Even though I was only ten years old, I can't go though a day without remembering her face. She had a face that was kind of hard to forget. With her blue eyes and long, blonde hair. Now, we were the same height.The moment I learned that she liked me, I lost her. She simply disappeared. I tried to find her, but the results were a failure. I had only one clear picture of her in my memory. And I'm reliving it right now.

"Isabelle." I asked, barely audible.

"Of course. You won't believe what I've been through to get her." She smiled, "I somehow got these superpowers that allow me to make like a copy of me somewhere else, like a holographic image. Bet you're going to say. 'Powers aren't real' well they are."

"Isabelle. How. How did you get here. You're a regular person." I asked, still unable to move.

"I appeared here after I got my powers. Pretty cool huh? After all, I have Superpowers" She spread her arms as if getting ready to hug someone.

"Isabelle. I believe you. After all, I can do this." My right hand pulses with electricity. My irises pitch black I scream, "Do you know how much I suffered? I literally searched day and night looking for you! I lived in so much pain, knowing that I can't find you! And now, you return like nothing ever happened! Do you "

"I get it. I'm sorry you... I mean, I made you so worried." Isabelle said, taken aback by my sudden change, "I didn't know "

"It's fine. Sorry. I can have trouble sometimes controlling my 'Black Eyes Mode' I can't control it when my best friend pulls something like this on me."

I lie down on my bed and pull the covers over my head and try to control my breathing. Something presses down on the side of my bed. It's her.

"Brian, it's okay. You'll be fine." She calms me down. She has such a gentle voice.

"I still have so much I want to say."

"No. It's fine. Calm down. Why don't you sleep for a while."

"Thanks. Please stay." I beg.

"Okay. I'll be here when you wake up." She promises.

I drift off to sleep with a feeling I hadn't felt in two years. Happiness.

Hi. In case you didn't know, Isabelle is a real person. Everything that describes her up there is true. She did disappear the day I learned she liked me which is made me really sad. I made this chapter so I could remember her forever. Sorry about that. A little emotional.

I still remember her face. For two years now. She is special to me.

This chapter's title sounds like a horror story in a romance novel ;)
