My mom runs marathons. Me on the other hand, I struggle running even one mile. Running is great and I really hold a lot of respect for it. However, it is not for me. I would rather have a twelve hour ballet rehearsal than run a mile. I guess that the fact that I'm not to good at running also does definitely factor into it. I can dance for hours and I have over the years built up quite a bit of endurance. When it comes to running, then my body just decides that it is done. The first couple minutes are typically fine. A little while later, I feel like the most un athletic person on planet earth. My lungs collapse and my muscles start to cramp up. Typically, dancers and running does not mix. I know that some teachers highly suggest not to run because it is not good on dancer's bodies. I do have to agree with that as well.
