Chapter 23 : Smoke And Fire

3 Months later

Maya's pov:

I was feeling so nervous. I could hear the crowd screaming my name, but all I could think of is Lucas. I haven't seen him in almost 3 month. The last time I saw him was at the park. I regret what I said to him. Why the hell did I said that? I didn't mean every single word I said. Well, I kinda do. I'm tired of getting hurt. So I guess the only way to stop hurting, is to let Lucas go.

"Maya, it's show time" Said one of the crew. Oh wait, did I mention to you guys that now I'm also a singer? After breaking up with Lucas, I started to write so many songs. So I figured, why not show the world my songs.

I walk to the stage with my back up dancers. All of the lights land on me. And when the music starts playing, I start singing a song called 'Smoke And Fire'

Feel the heat so we started running. You know you saw it coming. But the memories are still in my mind. Burning like smoke and fire

Rumors spread like wildfire. I held a strong ground. But I've been burning down. Cause it's like fire. Is all I hear about. And we are fading out

When I sing this song, I immediately think of Lucas. Well it kinda make sense, because I made this song for him. But right now, all I could think of is how much I'm missing him.

"I hope you all enjoyed the show" I said which makes all the crowd screams. I laughed through the mic and all of the fans screams louder.

You just got to love screaming fans.

The crowd were going crazy. "Thank you for coming guys!" I squealed in my mic. The crowd got louder. Me and the dancers waved and then got off the stage.

"That was amazing Maya" My manager told me

"Thanks" I say as I walk to my dressing room. Before I got in my dressing room, I heard Riley and Josh talking.

"I don't think we should tell her" I heard Josh said

"We need to tell her, Josh. Maya needs to know"

I quickly opened the door and say "Maya needs to know what?" Their eyes widen and they quickly stood up from the couch.

"What are you guys talking about?" I asked them.

"It's about Lucas" Riley sighed and looked down

"What about him?" I could hear that my voice cracked at the end.

"He left Maya. He's in Texas now" They finally give in and I feel my heart break into a million pieces.

"Oh"

"Are you okay?" She asked me, worried.

"Why didn't you tell me about this sooner?"

"I'm sorry, I just don't know how to tell you" They said.

"How long has he been gone?" I asked them

"3 months" Josh replied

"Wow" I said, holding back the tears and run away. I cried the whole way home and the whole night.
