Chapter 5 : I love her

Lucas's pov:

I don't know what's gotten into me. But when I saw Cole messing with Maya, it feels like my blood starts to boil and I feel the heat rising to my face.

"Are you okay?" I asked her, really concern

"Yeah, I'm fine" She replied while looking at me really scared.

"Are you sure? You don't look fine" I asked her again.

"Why-y d-id you do th-at?" She asked, stuttering.

I looked at her "I don't know, I just don't like the way he was talking to you"

"But you don't have to take care of me, you're not my boyfriend" She said walking away.

Is she mad at me? But why? I protected her from Cole, why is she mad at me? I don't know. Girls are complicated.

The bell rang, and Me, Josh, Farkle, Maya and Riley decided to hang out at the park. But Maya is still not talking to me. While Josh, Riley and Farkle are talking about the Spring Formal, Maya just stay quiet and stare at the ground.

"Maya are you seriously not talking to me?" I said, standing up.

"You could've gotten hurt-"

"Wait, what happened?" Farkle asked, cutting maya off.

"I saw Cole messing with Maya. And you know that Cole's an asshole, so I tell him to stay away from Maya" I explained to them.

"Well thank God that he didn't fight back, but what if he did? You could've gotten hurt! what do you think you getting hurt would've done to the people who care about you?!" She said, basically yelling at me.

"I'm just gonna go" Josh said, not wanting to be a part of this, so him, Farkle and Riley runs away.

"You care about me?" I said while sitting next to her.

"Of course I care about you, if you got hurt I don't know what I would've done" She said as she rested her head on my shoulder.

"Maya, there's something I wanted to tell you" I tell her.

"What is it"

"I really like you" I said, admitting my feelings.

"what?"

"I really like you. I'm not good at cute stuff and romantic moments, but the thing is I like you Maya, a lot. From the day that I first met you, I remember that day so perfectly. You were walking down the hallway and everyone's eyes landed on you but your eyes were only for me. The way you sat down laughing with your friends and I remember thinking of how beautiful your smile was. And that was the moment I fell in love with you, Maya. And when I saw Cole messing with you, I guess I get a little jealous. And I'm don't want to be 'Just Friends' with you, because I wanted to be more than that. I am completely, truly, madly in love you Maya Hart"

I hold her face and leans into kiss her. Our face are inches away from each other. We both lean in, closer and closer. Until our lips smash against each other. It was magical and passionate. We pulled apart and rest our foreheads against each other.

"Maya, will you be my girlfriend?" I asked her nervously. She smiled and kisses me again. But then, Josh, Riley and Farkle showed up and ruined the moment.

"Woah, what the hell just happened?" We heard Farkle said, and we both quickly pulled apart and smile of embarrassment.

"OMG!!! LUCAYA IS REAL!!! I SHIP IT" Riley said, squealing very loud.

"The heck?" I said, raising my eyebrows.

"It's your ship name. Lucaya. Oh My God I'm so happy for both of you. If you guys have a baby please name it Riley. Pretty please" She said, begging us.

"Okay, we are not having a baby Riley" Maya told her.

"Yet" I continue, smirking at Maya and she response with a playful punch on my stomach.

"So I'm the only single one here huh?" Says Josh as he runs his fingers through his hair.

"We'll find you a girl soon Josh" I replied to Josh, while we all are dying of laughter.

"Well it's getting late, we should really head back home" Riley said dragging Maya to the car.
