Chapter 8

Selei

I tried to scream but I was falling so fast my voice couldn't seem to find my mouth.

All that managed to come out was a little pathetic "aHa"

CRASH!

Pain shot through my body like a huge boulder had rolled on top of me.

Suddenly my voice found my mouth.

"AHHHHH"

I cursed under my breath as I slowly stood up, and just like that the pain disappeared. I breathed a sigh of relief and took in my surroundings.

It looked like I had landed in a tunnel, only the tunnel wasn't just any tunnel, it smelt of rotten flesh, dying body's and sadness.

Yes.......sadness, I could feel it flood over me making me almost fall over. As I did I heard a crunch beneath my feet, I quickly shut my eyes, not wanting to see what it was that made that sound. But it felt like someone had ripped my eyelids open, and I stared at the ground, or should I say what was on the ground.

I felt like I was about to be sick, so I ran to one of the sides of the tunnels, but nothing came out, nothing at all.

I suddenly felt very scared, where was I, where was everyone?

Then a song came to my head, I don't know who taught it to me, but I know that, that someone would have had to be important.

So I started to sing

Across the mountains

Across the seas

There's a place of which I've heard

It's filled with what they call peace

It's filled with nothing absurd

But I've heard there happy to share there place

With who ever is worthy

So tough girl!

Don't give up yet!

This song filled me with courage and a strength I never knew I had!

I was a bout to sing it again when I heard a loud groaning coming from behind me, if was then followed by a blood curling scream.

While I turned slowly around I felt the fear creep back in.

More groans and screams could be heard as I walked in the direction of them.

I wanted to turn and run the other way but it was almost as If something was pushing me towards the sounds, and the new found light.

As I got to the end of the tunnel it suddenly hit me,

The dead body's, dark tunnel, screams of fury and the sadness, yes the sadness................................................................................

This was hell.
